Somewhere in Benue, i saw people harvesting what looks like a centipede from a cashew tree to be eaten as meat. I almost threw up from the sight of its movement. Couldn't follow up on the finished looks.
Can you eat this and do you know what it is called?

That is a butterfly larva and its a delicacy in south Africa. I can't eat this though. I know that it's also eaten by some igbo tribes in the east during the Civil war

Mopane caterpillars. Rich source of protein, apparently. The processed version of it is sold in fine restaurants and malls worldwide. Sold in the UK as well.

this is called KANNI in yoruba.

it can be so sweet if dried or fried and cooked with vegetables.

I think this is egu in Igbo language.. It falls from the tree, a type of worm (caterpillar)
