New York attracts so many tourists every year. In order words, people are dying to see the landmarks in this city. But with much to do with limited resources, here are five places you shouldn’t forget to visit when you travel to New York:

Statue of Liberty and Battery Park

The Statue of Liberty is a blend of many things. It is the tallest statue in the world – at 152 feet and 450,000 pounds. It is a popular symbol of freedom. And it is the single biggest diplomatic gift (presented to the United States by France).

The statue of liberty can be found at the Liberty Island. You can take a boat ride for a closer view of the great statue or go to the Battery Park in Manhattan to see it from the shores.

Brooklyn Bridge

The story behind the famous Brooklyn Bridge is compelling. American Engineer John Roebling brainstormed about a bridge with towers and cables, then started working at it after 1855. However, he died of complications from a ferry accident and his son furthered his work.

In any case, the Brooklyn Bridge is such an amazing sight to behold. And it could possibly inspire you just as it continues to inspire poets and artists. Brooklyn Bridge is the first steel bridge in the world and was finished in 1883.

Empire State Building

When you visit New York, you should stop by at the Empire State Building. Doing so makes you one out of a billion who have seen this one-time world’s tallest building. You also become one of privileged few who have seen this important American landmark.

The Empire State Building allows for a view of New York and Connecticut, including Pennsylvania and Massachusetts. This building stands at 381 meters.

Metropolitan Museum of Art

There is so much to see and learn at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. This museum currently houses more than two million works of art. It contains varieties of cultural arts including those of the ancient Egypt and America.

Metropolitan Museum also includes photographs, paintings, costumes and musical instruments. It has a branch in Manhattan called The Cloisters. You can call Metropolitan museum ‘The Met’.

Rockefeller Center

Rockefeller is a fun complex in Manhattan, New York where many have visited because of its exciting features. You could call it a world of shopping and entertainment. There are restaurants, shops and viewing spaces in the Rockefeller Centre which stands behind the famous Atlas statue and allows for a pleasant view of Manhattan.

@NellyBobo thanks for pointing that out. Statue of liberty is the second tallest behind Spring Temple Budha. And it's actually 93 metres tall
