we only have one Church, i know you are trying to say different denominations. mutual understanding is what matters, what am saying is the two most agree to go to the same denomination or different ones.
Let me ask you if a man and his wife are working in two different state, and the closest Church to each of them happen to be different, shouldn't they attain?
But ideally if they are living under thesame roof they should be able to go to thesame place to worship God

in the Old Testament we see people marrying many wives, under the law polygamy is allowed. In the New testament no verse came out clearly and say polygamy is a sin.
Haven't you read "Jesus said" that at the beginning the Creator made them male and female Matt 19:5 at the beginning God creat a man and gave him only one wife, God would have given him morethan one if that His will.
*A person with many wives that is not a Christian, if later converted HE SHOULD NOT DIVORCE ANY OF HIS WIFE, but if any desire to leave then he should let her go in peace.
*Any man that have more than one wife is not entitle to be a leader in the Church, that is why Paul wrote to Titus and Timothy that they should chose a man that is a husband of one wife as a leader.
*Man can chose not to marry at all, he that i not married focuses on God, a man with a wife have divided attention, a man with morethan a wife has many troubles

Pastor Sir,

You haven't answered my question!

What is "Christian Marriage"?

The people of the Bible married based on their cultural and traditional requirements....

Hausas have theirs
Igbos have theirs
Yorubas have theirs
So also all the ethnic groups!
And we have laws regulating marriage..

Tell me about your Christian Marriage?!!

But why must a marriage be "blessed" in/by the church?
After all,the concerned parents have given their blessings, the legal requirements have been fulfilled...how needs a "church blessings"?

Is it biblical?

It's optional to bless your wedding in church as there's no biblical backing for that. Wedding in most churches today is what was copied from the white man. The most important thing is that the dowry or bride price has being paid and the parent of the bride had given their consent and blessing.

Marry a believer
not all people you see in the church are believers and not all churches are God's church, if you see an evidence of a new birth in her and God is leading you, marry her, but be careful most of such churches are occultic.

Just like the way the serpent deceive Eve, that is the way muslims men are deceiving Christian ladies today.
Serpent deceive Eve to rebel against God, to disobey God's order, and when she saw that the fruit was good for FOOD, she DESIRE IT, she taught she will gain WISDOM in it ...
today many christian ladies follow muslims because they are lusting after what they can eat (FOOD), some follow because of their DESIRES they want their feeling to satisfies or they foolishely think that is WISDOM. Another reason is most of this ladies are not deeply rooted in christianity or they don't know that which was in islam yet, and lastly some of the muslims guys uses charms and all kind of incantations to get christian ladies.

Characters of a good wife.

In the same way, you wives must accept the authority of your husbands. Then, even if some refuse to obey Good News, your godly lives will speak to them without any words. They will be won over 1 Pet 3:1.

wives ... submit to your husband as to the Lord. For husband is the head of his wife as Christ the head of the Church ... as the Church submits to Christ so you wives should submit to your husband in everything Eph 5:22-24.

In God's hierarchy of authority in his family: God is the head of Christ; Christ is the head of every man; & man is the head of woman, 1 Cor 11:3

Furthermore, the beauty of a good wife is not an outward attraction of plaiting of hair, or of wearing of gold, & of putting on of expensive attires. But, her beauty is of a meek and quiet spirit, which is a great price in the sight of God. This was the manner of the women of old. Just like Sarah who obeyed Abraham to the extend of calling him lord.

In addition, a good wife, she is more precious than rubies. Her husband can trust her, and she will greatly enrich his life. She brings him good, and not harm, all the days of her life. She finds wool and flax and busily spins it. She is like a merchant's ship, bringing her food for afar. She gets up before dawn to prepare breakfast for her household and plan the day's work for her servant girls. She goes to inspect a field and buys it; with her earnings she plants a vineyard. She is energetic and strong, a hard worker. She make sure her dealings are profitable; her lamp burns late into the night. Her hands are busy spinning thread, her fingers twisting fiber. She extends a helping hand to the poor and opens her arms to the needy. She has no fear of winter for her household, for everyone has worm clothes. She makes her own bedspreads. She dresses in fine linen and purple gowns. Her husband is well known at the city gates, where he sits with the other civic leaders. She makes belted linen garments and sashes to sell to the merchants. She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear for future. When she speaks, her words are wise, and she gives instructions with kindness. She carefully watches everything in her household and suffers nothing from laziness. Her children stand and bless her: ...

Charm is deceptive, and beauty doesn't last; but a woman who fears th LORD will be greatly praised. Reward her for all she has done. Let her deeds publicly declare her praise Prov 31:10-31

1Sharon:

i disagree, the rate of divorce is lower in christian a research shows proof it
The National Center for Family and Marriage Research at Bowling Green State University reports that out of every 1,000 married women in 2014, 17.6 experienced a divorce that year. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention base their numbers off of total population rather than only married people. They found that, in 2014 , there were 6.9 marriages per 1,000 members of the total population, while there were 3.2 divorces or annulments per 1,000 members of the general population that same year. (It’s important to note that, by and large, the number of those marrying in any given year is not the same group which is divorcing.) But what about Christians? Are we doing any better? It depends. In Christians Are Hate-Filled Hypocrites . . . and Other Lies You’ve Been Told, sociologist Bradley R.E. Wright reports findings from The General Social Survey (from 2000 to 2006): “Contrary to popular belief, Christians and members of other religions have lower divorce rates, about 42%, than do the religiously unaffiliated, about 50%.” He goes on to explain that, for evangelicals, regular attendance at religious services makes a big impact on the divorce rate: “60% of the never-attendees had been divorced or were separated compared to only 38% of the weekly attendees.” While regular church attendance does seem to make a difference in the health and preservation of marriage, nonetheless divorce rates are still pretty high in the church. In his book, Wright says, “The percentage of divorced or separated Evangelicals almost doubled from the 1970s to the 2000s (25 to 46%).” www.christianitytoday.com/women/2016/april/when-does-bible-allow-divorce.html
