The USA has a policy against importation of food stuff for disease control purpose. I was warned not to bring food stuff when I travelled. It might not be unconnected with that policy. |

thundafire: Yes Nigeria has the best yam in the world. We imported Nigeria yams same time and the USA never rejected it. But it's a risky business, maybe it's got here bad and not safe for consumption, and it's won't be cleared. 1 Like |

They are so many mistakes they may have made, 1. What type of yam was exported? You can't just pick up yams and ship, it takes more than 30days for yams to get to the Usa, so the yams must be resilient . 2. What's the time of the season was it's exported? It's when the yams have gone dried and used for planting? 3. How was it handled? 4. What kind of container was used to export it? To get good at this business, the first shipment is always a BIG Loss, Like everything going bad. |
