Car came into the workshop with rough idling and sluggish movement. Excessive black smoke from exhaust tail pipe.

Car was scanned usig the autel maxi Sys elite by mayor and we had the following fault errors retrieved from the powertain control module:

1) p2432- secondary air injection system air flow/pressure sensor circuit low, bank 1

2) p2431- secondary air injection system air flow/pressure sensor- circuit range /performance, bank1

3) p2610- engine control module/ powertain control module internal engine off timer performance

4) U0167- lost communication with vehicle immobiliser control module

5) P0303- cylinder 3 misfire detected

6)p0307- cylinder 7 misfire detected

7) p0300- Random cylinder misfire

cool p0313- misfire detected with low fuel

First thing was to have the codes cleared and go for a spin and rescan to see what faults we have left after car has gone through a complete drive cycle. After clearing what we had the remaining faults

I take an exception to this. Did you follow the Lexus is350 2006 engine replacement

A brief explanation to the secondary air injection system. This system helps build up oxygen through a vacuum line which is reused for combustion process. We would majorly focus on the misfire faults because we worked on a very tight budget

No. If you would be magnanimous enough to post the link, I will.

To start this we would commence with the removal of the negative terminal of the car's battery to avoid any form of electrical mishap. This ride came with a Bosch battery with a cold cranking capacity of 850 at 0 degrees Fahrenheit

Sounds like bad fuel has clogged up the injectors spray and fuel filter causing a reduced fuel pressure.

Think the pressure at fuel rail should be checked, but replace fuel filter first and spark plugs as a maintenance items

After removal of the negative battery terminal we proceed by inspecting all 8 spark plugs and 8 ignition coils and also throttle actuator. Throttle body was found to be very dirty as a result of misfire issue

One of the ignition coil was found to be defective since we worked on a very tight budget we would be replacing just only 2 spark plugs. With the condition of the throttle body above note that the throttle valve cannot be easily controlled due to the sticky carbon henceforth one of the reasons for the misfire

We would be using Bosch double platinum sparkplugs ordered directly from Germany cool. Bosch parts have been my favourite they never disappoint

Next is going to the inlet manifold plenum to have it properly cleaned up from all forms of carbon deposits. Pix depicts the removal of a 10mm threaded bolt close to the firewall in the engine bay

I love to take out the inlet manifold plenum to remove all form of carbon deposits. A part of what we do cheesy to get the job well done cool.

It I'd very disturbing that someone using a jaguar can only afford to replace 2 spark plugs out of 8.

It does not matter what brand you drive if you can't afford $24 for a part you replace every 6 years and a fuel filter then you should not be driving a car because you might cut back on brakes which is more expensive then killed someone

Well said.

It's befuddling, the risky and sometimes downright dangerous compromises people are willing to make with their automobiles.

Pix of inlet plenum manifold with oil soaked inside. Blocked oil breather can be responsible for this

Removal of fuel injectors next. To achieve this the manifold needs to come out. The aluminium base needs to be stripped away from the inlet manifold plenum to have a proper access to the fuel injectors. You need to be careful at this junction so as not have cause damage to the injectors. A penetration oil would be sprayed to have it easily removed
