All five universities and polytechnics in Imo state are in or nearest Owerri.

Orlu which has no tertiary institution gave the highest number of votes to Rochas Okorocha in 2011 and begged him to establish a public tertiary institution in Orlu area.

Instead, Okorocha built another university campus in Owerri Mbaise-Nor-Okpalla.
He built a new college of education in Okigwe zone.

But he built his private university in his hometown Ogboko. It's common knowledge that private university has little or no benefit to the area it's located.

Okorocha sold his political credit in Imo state beginning in Orlu.

Where are these University campus and new College of Education located in Imo State? None exists here. They exist only on the papers they are written. Only the so called Eastern Palm University which is being constructed with state resources but ostensibly belongs to Okorocha have structures erected everywhere within the University premises at Ogboko. Greed of the man known as Rochas Okorocha knows no bounds!
