Nigeria has been invited to the Nuclear Summit in Washington DC. I think the President of a Secular Nigeria should be at least representing us on a world Stage in Suits sometimes. I will like to see Jonathan appear businesslike, tell us how u will like to see Jonathan appear.

When the nuclear security talks were formally announced by Obama during the G-8 Summit in Italy in July, officials said 25 to 30 countries would be invited soon after the president returned from the economic confab. The invitation process seems to have taken a bit longer than anticipated and, like any coveted Washington party, the guest list has swelled. The full list, as released by the White House to POLITICO Thursday morning, is after the jump.

The Presidency of acting President Goodluck Jonathan seems to be getting more international acceptance and support as American President, Barrack Obama, is reported to have invited the Nigerian leader to an international summit scheduled for next month.

Although the agenda of the said summit is still very sketchy, it was gathered that Obama personally called up the former Bayelsa governor asking him to attend the conference.
According to a source at the Presidency who confirmed the development, “it is true that the acting President will be going to the US in April and he will be attending a summit. They called it a nuclear summit.

He was personally and specially invited by Obama to attend the meeting.”
He disclosed that Jonathan is already making arrangements to attend the meeting, hinting that the acting President might use the opportunity to further press for the issue of delisting Nigeria from the list of terror nations that it was included soon after Farouk Abdulmutallab’s attempted suicide bombing on American soil.
Political analysts view the development as a major boost for the Jonathan administration that is facing some acceptability challenges from some quarters in the country.

It is also seem as a clear departure from the era of ailing President Umaru Yar’Adua who seldomly attend international summits and is in the habit of sending representatives to such meetings even before he took ill in November 2009.

I think Suits are the most diverse outfit in Nigeria.

Lets do away with all this cultural wears we wear to Foreign Gatherings which only some Nigerians can identify with.

The President of Nigeria should represent us all.http://www.politico.com/blogs/joshgerstein/0110/Israel_invited_to_Obama_loosenuke_summit_Iran_not.html

There is no way we will ever throw away our culture. Do oyibo people wear buba and sokoto when they come to Lagos or do they wear their clothes from their own cultures? Abeg, be proud of who you are.

beaf suits are nobody's cultural attire, do some research on this and prove to me whose culture it is?

suits are just official business class attire for serious people. Babaringa or Etibo or DanFulani or whatever etc. None of these attires single handedly represents Nigeria as a whole at any point in time and most times they alienate those whose region the President has not come from.

It only serves as a symbol of reminder of our differences. The President of Nigeria should be a neutral fellow in a country of over 200 ethnic groups , 6 geopolitical zones and more than 3 religions.

I just think anyone representing us abroad should appear in a unified attire. These things are simple symbolic gestures that may foster unity.
