Child training is an amazing sacred trust from the Lord. It therefore calls for total commitment, utmost vigilance, ready availability and the need to capture every moment and every opportunity to instill godly principles into the children.

A child needs to be taught to do exactly as his parents instruct him without any fear of punishment or consideration of reward. Before the child can develop a sense of duty towards God, he must first be made to obey his parents and those who has authority over him. Every instance of disregard or indifference to legitimate instruction whether at home or abroad must be dealt with firmly and lovingly.

Effective child training is one that recognizes the uniqueness of each child and handles him or her with love, care, understanding, and patience. The virtues of honesty, hard-working, and decency must be carefully inculcated in the child. He must be trained to know that God has a deep hatred for lying and falsehood.

Parents on the other hand, must shun deception, craftiness, and exaggeration of facts. Children must also be trained in the habit of self-denial, so that they'll willingly prefer the comfort and happiness of others to their own.
