However, great men like Abraham, David and most notable of all, King Solomon were polygamous and were not condemned because of that. So at what point did the Christian religion become anti-polygamy

When God created the first man , Adam, he created only on wife for him. God could have created 2 if it good to have more than one wife.

The fall of Adam in the garden brought about disorderliness. People started doing things their own ways. They worshipped the wrong gods , killed and did many things which were abominable .The first person to marry two wives did so by his own will. He was the descendant of Cain.
Genesis 4:19,23 KJV
And Lamech took unto him two wives: the name of the one was Adah, and the name of the other Zillah. [23] And Lamech said unto his wives, Adah and Zillah, Hear my voice; ye wives of Lamech, hearken unto my speech: for I have slain a man to my wounding, and a young man to my hurt.

It was a wicked man that started polygamy in the Bible.
God even told the kings of Israel not to marry many wives.

Deuteronomy 17:17 KJV
Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart turn not away: neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold.

As at that time , the people did not see it as a sin, it had become a norm. This was why God called Moses so that the people can start to know the mind of God.

Some of those laws were not addressed by the first law because of the hardness of heart of the Jews , but Mose made it clear to them that a Messiah is coming and him they should obey as the final authority, which is Jesus Christ.
