all4naija: Above that so called baby T-craft we have the largest combatant troupes in Africa. It can be very intimidating to any other country in Africa when it comes to prowess and strength. So, leave outside the T-craft thing and let talk about the combatant strength and you will find out that there is none in Africa that can challenge Nigerian Army in that capacity maybe Egypt.

It is very clear on the CIA Fact file that the Nigerian military manpower is well above the total population of South Africa. If Nigeria is to descend on SA, for example, the military number is well above what is required to decimate the entire population of your country(if we are to recruit to achieve that). There is no need of trying to argue about the Nigerian military manpower when comparing it to SA approximately 15 million meagre manpower.

sa can use it's force better, we did the same thing in angola.

So to achieve their goal, whenever there is a military raid, the claim civilians life were lost and that those killed are civilians, but funny thing is whether civilians always go around with IEDs and Ak's, and whether civilians always return fire with troops whenever their hideouts are raided by troops.

SA I deploying a force to the DRC intervstion brigade. A number of gripens and rooivalk have been deployed.

Estermts on the cost of deploying is 370 million rand close to 40 million USD. Thoughts are that up to 1000 SA solders will deploy along with 2 to 3 thousand solders from other countries. So far only SA has posttioned force in or close to the AO.

Lol. The truth is that most technology in that nation is foreign owned, The Marader production company which was founded Ivor Ichikowitz, he is a Lithuanian. The Mercedes Benz, Volkswagen, Siemens,Oracle,ICT and computer hardware productions are Germans, Americans and other Europeans, Square Kilometre Array (SKA) is Russian, just to mentioned a few. It is still the same thing that can be said of Nigerian technology,it is Nigerians who are also working in those companies producing the hardware.

You made claim that the APCs were built by the British forgetting that Nigerians were mainly involved in the building of those hardware. Nigerians were involved in the building of all the Satellites launched by Nigeria so far. Even some of these Satellite dwarf SA's.

You are an extremely obnoxious fellow on every thread you lay your eyes on.

1) The SKA is a international project which SA goverment is a host and an investor in the project. The SKA is not a Russian project can you show me the proof of that. The SKA is a project still in its developmental stage and over 8 nations are involved in the project to build the worlds Largest Radio Telescope.
http://www.ska.ac.za/

Now knowledge is power first read before you talk nonsense.

2) On the issue of SA not building its own hardware and relying on the West hahahahah what a stu*pid I'll informed remark by someone who don't read or have any knowledge of SA made products and defense companies like goverment owned Denel and company like Paramount Reutech Radar Systems and BAE Land Systems SA.

Now here is a 100% SA build missiles the Umkhonto SAM which is fitted to the Valour class warships and Finnish Harmina warships and will now also be fitted to the Algerian newly aquired Meko-200 frigates.

Next to that is the Umbani PGM which is also a proudly SA made product all of which is 100% owned by SA.

You @all4naija needs to stop exposing your ignorance. Now go to The Sexuality section and stop talking nonsense

Nigeria I think nigeria 2nd or 1st with arillry in terms of numbers.

Nigeria has arround 300(T72/chieftan) or so modernish MBT tanks and another 100 or older MBT(t55) puting them pretty high. SA has about 275 MBT though the Rooikat76 can take out most tanks in Africa with a frontal shot and at a longer ranger.

Nigeria does not have enough APC and IFV for there size and far to few helicopters.

Nigeria has 55 helicopter gunships all with anti-tank weapons more than enough to destroy all south African army Olifant tanks in 10 minutes.

Nigeria has 5 times more helicopter gunships than south Africa, we outnumber you 55 against 11.

Only Egypt has more helicopter gunships than Nigeria in the whole of Africa.

Also, Nigria has upgraded all her T-72 main battle tanks and now more deadly.

Also nigerian army has 40 BTR-U Guardian ultra-modern fighting vehicles with more than enough anti-tank missiles to destroy south African armoured tanks.

Nigerian army 300 cobra and VBL armoured vehicles also have hardware capability for extra mission as tank killers to wipe out all the armoured vehicles in the whole of south Africa with missiles in few hours of battle.

Why are you Nigerians continuesly questioning SA's citizenry on the bases of color. If we south africans have accepted our diversity no foreigner who don't even live and work in his own country has the right to question it. Why don't you Nigerians question Latino's, A Amreicans, Jews and others who migrated to US as foreigners, because the US is the worlds biggest immigrated nation.

And by the way the history of south african mining goes way back before colonialist came, even iron was made before the whites came here.

We all accept the fact that white afrikaaners played a pivotal role in SA's military tech since the day the world sanctioned SA and it was forced to either reverse engineer or create their own systems in order to fend of Soviet supported states, but the fact remains that africans played its part in labor force (even my own uncle worked for Atlas in the 1980's where they built aircraft and land systems for the then apartheid regime and he's not white).

@Aguagust, Denel is a 100% SA goverment owned company that makes it a predominantly black owned shareholder company. SANDF failed woefully in CAR and they come here to top dress it as "lesser casualty victory"? Do they think anyone here is stuupiid?

Nigeria Armed Forces is internationally respected for her records and for the first time in my life, after that mis-informed Ghanian doofus of a journalist, I see South Africans here trying in vain to put NAF down so that "little" light can shine of disgraced SANDF. Now see another doofoos....they claim that because civilians were killed in counter insurgency operations, so NA is incompetent. Now, if you are so smart, show me just ONE country that's battling insurgency that doesnt have accusations of civilian deaths as collateral damage? if you can't, then you are an eediiot for making the accusation in first place!

Another said Nigeria Armed Forces have 2C issues....WTF! so na only SANDF holy pass abi? una dey mad! show your proof now or be the damned fool again! ....shaiiit!

Look, you boyz, I will never defend Nigerian military as saints, they surely have their excesses, but not for SANDF supporters to point out as their shameless asssses are out in the air. Your military can only learn from Nigeria if you want to avoid another humiliating defeat from rag-tag army. Nigeria suffered similar humiliation in hands of rebels when ECOMOG HQ was breached under command of a Ghanaian Supreme Commander and Samuel Doe captured right from hands of ECOMOG. But Nigeria did not pull out, we pushed ECOWAS to change mamdate from Peace Keeping to Peace Enforcement, with which the Supreme Commander was sacked and a Nigerian (Gen Joshua Dongoyaro) took command, tore all agreements with rebel groups and UNLEASHED HELL on all rebel fronts. They all broke off and end of the story is Liberia today.

Reason for the history lesson is to tell you that we have had your same of DISGRACE over 25 years ago! the difference is that we never LIED about ours, but reacted to it and today we are better fighting force for it. Then you will know why Nigeria military doesnt "play" with "civilians" in battle fronts. They know more about unconventional warfare better than your wanna-be SANDF. The diffrence is that our solders did not fial. They where never over run, routed, breached or deafted in any way. People still think that our job was to protected the CAR presdiant and capital. This was not our mandat but the maindat of the Regional forces, who ran away. SA was fighting to protected there own and did so.

The mission in DRC is diffrent. Hence the air support being deployed.
