Alleged Conspiracy: Gunmen Ambush Efcc Operatives, Kill One, Injure Four


Twenty-four hours after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) raised the alarm on alleged conspiracy by some corrupt politicians to engage it in a sustained war of attrition, five of its operatives were attacked on Friday by unidentified gunmen in Imo State, killing one and injuring four.

Commission’s spokesperson, Mr. Femi Babafemi, who confirmed the incident to the Saturday Tribune on phone disclosed that the dead, Sergeant Eze Edoga, had been deposited in a mortuary while the injured had been hospitalized in a private hospital in Anara, near Okigwe in Imo State.
