Omooba77: Yes, that is clear and it is good they are warning against collections because it could damage their reputation abroad and in the comity of those kind hearted enough to sponsor the spread of the gospel throughout the world. My grouse is that the abuse by a few pastors of the privilege of receiving offerings has played into the hands of those who want to run the church out of town. No one will call for the ban of cars simply because of accidents but to make them safer. Why not suggestions to make pastors more accountable, no. They just want all offerings stopped so that the church grinds to a halt. Nigeria is bad. It is the churches fault. Yet they know exactly who does what and keep quiet on them but pick on pastors simply because they are soft targets with no moral rights of reply. |

Reference: You made a point. However many churches need to wake up to their responsiblities. The old churches still have mission outreach programmes, hospitals/clinics, widow and orphan support, youth empowerment, prison and hospital ministries, children rehabilitatation ministry, elders forum and schools. These are all funded by the church from tithes, offerings and dedicated donations. Proper accounts are rendered annually to the whole church and questions raised are addressed. If other churches toe this path, there'll be less outcry against the church. No one can bring down the church anyway, except God so desires. 1 Like |

Reference: It's only a few people that actually understand Christianity and church management. They think it's paper and sand one uses to run a church. That a few pastors flaunt wealth is not a true reflection of the hundreds of thousands of pastors/shepherds who are struggling to keep local assemblies open every week with little or no financial support from their tiny congregation. Many expect pastors to copy an evangelist who leads souls to CHRIST and then goes to sleep, leaving the real lifelong task of nursing those souls for pastors to sweat about with its daily and weekly financial, spiritual, psychological and emotional commitments. Abeg I nor fit type again. There obviously are too many ignorant children in Christianity. Thanks bro for the awakening. |

delpee: Many churches are doing their best. The financially buoyant churches are very few. Many still do missions and offer charitable services to their members and communities. That you are not aware does not mean it is nonexistent. Churches don't need to broadcast what they do for the world to approve them. Truth be told, most Nigerian churches are very poor financially. Getting the assembly open on a weekly basis is a cross many are carrying. |

The most acceptable offering is our heart......... You can give all the money in the world to the church and still go to hell. The most important question we should ask ourselves everyday..... Is "how real is Jesus in my life?" 2 Likes |

Re: Reinhard Bonnke: "We Don’t Collect Offering At Our Crusades" by mastermaestro(m): 10:06pm On Nov 10, 2017 |
avalontony: Offerings are needed to run church assemblies. Bonnke did not organize an offering-free crusade because he is the kindest preacher around. Simply put, offerings had already been given for the crusade by people who know that it takes money to fund church events. The financial and the most important spiritual blessings of the crusade belong to those who sponsored it. Nothing is ever free! Salvation is free because JESUS paid for it! |
