First, you are a Spirit

John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

To be born of water means to die to the flesh,

To pull curtain over sin and its works unto a new man in Christ

Romans 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

6:5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

6:7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.

6:8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:

6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

The moment we are born again, sin ought not have dominion over us. Its like saying you repented from smoking and you still smoke as usual. Though the desire might arise, we are to shut those desires down by the Word of God. The Bible spoke about how a tiny rope and a small rudder, control the direction and bodily direction of the whole horse and ship respectively.
