Yes, the Judge granted them bail. All accussed are presumed innocent until proven guilty by a competent court of law. Why? So that the innocent persons cannot be jailed wrongly. Supposing i go to the police and lied that you raped someone blah blah blah and you are arrested. So many would expect that you be remanded in prison custody, not knowing i lied. Now, the law sees everyone as innocent until the facts are laid bare and discused in court till guilt is proven. Unfortunately, this is our law. So the judge in in line with the constitutional provisions.

In as much as they are not a flight risk, they deserve bail.

They have not been found guilty and are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.

This is so so unfair ,wicked and cruel.How can a lady report to the police of her missing house help and ends up getting arrested for the same crime? How?Later someone would say police is your friend.

Rape is a terrible crime and should be dealt with accordingly. However, those guys can be assumed innocent until proven otherwise in the court of law. Did you miss the part where they pled "Not guilty"?. But you can also be rest assured that those guys are not coming out soon.

Their bail was set at 1.5m each (500k + 2 sureties in like some 500 × 2). So there is a culminating bail of 4.5m on their heads. You think those urchins can afford such?.

My dear, they are good as gone.

She said she was arrested, detained at the police station and was asked to produce the victim.

She said it was a traumatic experience for her and thanked God that her house maid was later found.

When you're so useless as to kidnap and rap.e a househelp for 5 days shows their level and the level of the relatives. Also, their relatives and friends will be terrified standing in for them.
