Pawpaw is grown almost anywhere in all parts of the country and loved by most people. It is a highly perishable fruit, large quantities rot away in a short period after harvest. With the advent of fruit juice companies in the country, the need to grow pawpaw in commercial quantities has come, so that the fruits can be available all through the year. This will also stop or reduce the use of concentrate flavor that most juice producing companies now use instead of the normal raw fruit extract. The flavors are imported into Nigeria and are synthetic, therefore not as good as the natural flavors in pawpaw powder. Pawpaw plantation will give rise to the new wave of farming called contract farming. You as a businessman can also go into processing into powdered form and sell or dry to produce dry fruits which can be supply to food producing companies. Or sell packaged dry fruits when those fruits are out of seasons & expensive to buy. Contact Gbenga: 08120528950 or 08136650972 for improved variety pawpaw seedlings that start to produce at 4 months old and produce all year round for 2 years only, send email to boluwagoldensolution@gmail.com To see pictures or it can be send to you on whatsApp: 08120528950. If you buy our pawpaw seedlings, you will get a FREE ebook on PAWPAW BUSINESS. Hybrid PLANTAIN,pineapple, sugarcane SUCKERS & MELON are also available Papayas fruit all year round, as long as the weather is warm enough. Keep them happy and they will keep fruiting. (If the temperatures drop too much they stop flowering. They will flower again as it warms up.) Young papayas are the most productive. The older a papaya plant gets, the weaker it becomes. It will produce less and smaller fruit, and it may get problems with diseases. Also, because the plants keep growing taller it gets harder to reach the fruit but the hybrid are not so. Please use hybrid pawpaw not wild plant. I think it's best to just keep planting more. Put in another patch every few months. That way you always have some healthy and productive plants around, and you don't need a ladder to pick the fruit from our hybrid pawpaw plant. 2 Likes |

Transplanting Seedlings The soil must not be waterlogged. Remove the nylon from around the roots before planting. Take care not to injure the roots or damage the root ball as it is removed from the nylon. Pawpaws typically will be sparsely rooted and have a long brittle tap roots . Plough and harrow the land site and plant the seedlings in holes of 15 cm —20 cm deep and 2 x 2 m spacing . Fertilizer application Apply 50 g of NKP 15-15-15 per plant , 3 weeks after transplanting and at monthly intervals up to 6 months after transplanting. Optimum yields have been obtained using 45 g N/plant and a 1:2 N: P ratio. However, application rates should be based on soil test results in order to make maximum use of the fertilizer application. Weeding Weed control is very important especially during the first 3 months after transplanting. This may be achieved by hoe weeding, slashing at monthly intervals , or by the use of the herbicide Paraquat glyphosate at 4—6 or 3 kg active ingredient per hectare. Or use the new weeding machine that can do hoeing, slashing ,small tree cutting etc Dry season irrigation is important for pawpaw. For newly transplanted seedlings, apply 3 liters of water per plant twice a week, For flowering plants, apply 5 litres twice a week, for bearing plants apply 15 liters of water per plant once a week. Intercropping Intercrop pawpaw, planted at a spacing of 2 x 2 m, with early maturing plants like okra, leafy vegetable, melon, 2 months maturity beans, sweet potato, or sweet corn. These plants should mature within 3 months or poor yields will be obtained due to shading of pawpaw canopies . What you can make on just 2 plots of Pawpaw farm Do you know planting paw paw on 2 plots will yield you close to million yearly? Now, let's say you plant Pawpaw on a plot of land. The maximum trees a plot can take is 200 stands A good variety produces up to 60-90 fruits in a year and a fruit is sold @ N50 bulk purchase 200 × 60 = 12,000Fruits in a year But let say you sold 10,000 fruits 10,000 × N50 = N500,000 sales not profit Each tree stays 4years, and fruit production begins on the 6th month, this means that a tree produces for 3years and 6 months. Now, let's say 3 years N500,000 × 3 years = N1,500,000 N1,500,000 from 'ordinary' pawpaw on a plot in less than 4 years There are so many unused plots close to you that you can either lease or get to use for free. Delay is dangerous. Whatapp & call 08120528950 500 seeds for N5000 2 months seedling for N100 minimum purchase is 100 seedlings Use it to reduce cost of feeding your animals... kagari: mrvitalis: I wonder where people sell what they don't run. Guys beware. Why sell seedlings instead of seed? The problem with papaya seeds is that its always sold in bulk eliminating small holders like those in the home who may need maximum of 10 trees or even less. I may soon start selling pure f1 generation seeds in small quantity like 10 seeds if my proposed demonstration farm for papaya is good. Recommended spacing is even 1.5m x 1.5m or 1.8m x 1.8m which will give 4400 per hectare/440 per plot or 3200 per hectare/320 per plot. Farmgate prices I found out is 100 per fruit and it also depends on the variety if its supersweet. The farm will certainly be good towards large consumer towns like state capitals. |

Re: Cash From Pawpaw Plantation – In Just 6 Months After Planting by Nobody: 9:42am On Dec 17, 2017 |
mrvitalis:50 hectares will be just too much. That's average of 150,000 fruits a week. Will the market be able to sell off that amount a week? Except you see processors who will convert to fruit juices. Theoretically, that will give minimum of 10 million a week. You best bet is to start a small farm of maximum 4 hectares and see the yield in that area and remember its also needs irrigation to produce fruits all year long. My farm has not started but its in top preparatory gear. The f1 seeds are being sought from Taiwan and will be here in January 2018. I want to do a demonstration farm in Lokoja and see the practical production yield before going full scale. You will never regret going into it. I have a video of a demonstration farm of a farmer earning a lot from it. |

EMMAACHILE: Basically we want to fill that gap between February and October (2019) when pawpaw is expensive and that period you can sell any amount you have I have a deal with Shongai farms port novo on seed supply And I'm also looking at chi to supply them uniform teasting pawpaw for their juice production But the main dream is to take over the European market from the South Americans We are far closer to Europe Cheaper labor so why can't we sell cheaper goods 3 Likes 1 Share |
