ABUJA- THE Senate Thursday raised the alarm that property recovered from Nigerians, Organisations by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC were allegedly being relooted by officials of the anti- crime agency.
According to the Senate, with this development, it was poised for yet another round of war with the Chairman of EFCC, Ibrahim Magu.


Against this backdrop, the Senate has begun a probe into the allegations that about 222 recovered property comprising of exotic Houses and Hotels handed over to EFCC by the former chairman of Presidential Task Force on Pensions, Abdulrasheed Maina before his removal as chairman of presidential task force on pensions in 2014, have been shared by top notchers in EFCC or interested parties in the society .


The alarm was raised yesterday by the the Chairman of the Senate Ad- hoc Committee investigating the reinstatement and promotion of the former chairman of Presidential Task Force on Pensions, Abdulrasheed Maina and Chairman, Senate Committee on Establishment and Public Services, Senator Emmanuel Paulker, PDP, Bayelsa Central.


According to him, the Committee got the information of looted property from submissions made to that effect by some of the invited government officials connected with the botched reinstatement and promotion of Maina
Senator Paulker who requested the Senate to expand the scope of his committee’s investigation in unravelling who and who were involved in the relooted loots, said, ” For this alarming revelation sir, this committee request the senate to expand the scope of its investigation on Maina by extending it to the management of assets recovered by him and handed over to EFCC before his removal as Chairman, Presidential Task Force on Pensions in 2014 and by so doing, extend the duration of the assignment.”


In his remarks, Senate President Bukola Saraki said that the committee must do everything possible in unraveling those behind the alleged relooting and report back in four weeks time .
Saraki said, ” this is a very serious matter and more of large scale corruption going on in a forbidden place. We just hope that it remains at realm of allegation and not as it is presented.”

Yes corruption in forbidden places like the hallowed den of looting lawmakers as the steal and loot funds meant for constituency projects.
The Saraki himself was he not receiving pension as a former Governor of Kwara state? Let him like all those useless thieves give account of the millions they get as constituency allowances and show us the projects on ground they ve executed? Is it not the likes of that hypocrite Shehu Sani that donated camels and radios as constituency projects from the millions he got or that tout
Dino that would blow trumpet for a project of less than a million and flaunt fleet of cars he would never have been able to afford if not for politics.

By the way, the National Assembly which is d legislative arm of govt has no business of financing projects but to enact laws. That is d sole responsibility of the executive. If it is so then let the judiciary also being given “judicial allowances” na so it is balanced. Yet they will blame Federal Government for the decay in infrastructure as if they are not responsible for it as well afterall they get billions annually for it.

Think of the huge difference it would have made if all the constituency allowances were put to good use every year.

Nigeria can never ever progress. It is doomed beyond any redemption.

Until the day corruption is a capital offense which can never be as thieves would never want ti shoot themselves in the foot by enacting laws against themselves Niget would forever be in the woods.

I know many Nigerians would fall for this cheap propaganda against the EFCC. As far as it is coming from the senate I would never fall for such cos the greatest enemy of this doomed nation are the lawmakers who never mean well for Nigeria. Their constituency is their pockets.

One of the many things many Nigerians are ignorant of is that the EFCC can never be blamed for the non prosecution of corrupt public officials when the judiciary are corrupt and the laws are to weak against corruption cos it was enacted by thieves. Believe me EFCC are doing a very good job but their activities are hampered by many factors.

I doubt if there's any human born of a woman, created by God that can redeem Nigeria from corruption. The summation by people that Buhari is corrupt free is a BIG lie.

Humn! EFCC decleared war against DSS yesterday then Senate inturn decleared war against the EFCC today.
