KADUNA – The Kaduna state government sacks 4,042 local government worker over the 23 local government regions in the state, referring to excess as reason.

The state commissioner for local government and Chieftaincy affairs, Alhaji Jafaru Sani, told journalists at a press conference in Kaduna Monday that the exercise was part of the ongoing restructuring of the local government system for effective service delivery.

According to him, the restructuring was designed to strengthen the local government system to carry out developmental projects and programmes

The magistrate clarified that 3,159 of the withdrew staff had put in 10 years and were resigned while the staying 893 had their employments fired.

With a specific end goal to pad the impacts of their sudden withdrawal, the chief said the withdrew staff would be paid their November compensation and in addition three months’ pay in lieu of notice while their annuity would be worked out by their benefits chairmen.
