lol. now i know why somebody said nigerians are the most hypocrite people on earth. We love playing to the gallery as if we really care about the environment. Our streets today are littered with dirt simply because we will not obey simple instruction of properly disposing our waste.

There are demons in human form operating against the development of certain areas of Nigeria.

The moment Ayade started talking about his deep sea port and super highway, funny environmentalists home and away started raising their ugly heads. Then it died down. Then he released a massive budget yesterday and now this article surfaces. Who are these people?

The momemt Obaseki starts talking Gelegele seaport in Benin, a sudden crisis begins to rise between Ijaws and Binis.

Thats how Tinapa was effectively killed.

They killed ALSCON. Killed Ajaokuta. Killed DSC.

Who are these faceless peeps always seeking to work against certain critical components of development?

We need to research it deeply.

They are called Principalities and Powers.

Why has Adamawa suddenly become a war-crisis zone since Atiku resignation?
What is the connection btw politicians, BH & FH?

Your rant is bunch paranoid nonsense. The article came out before the budget so that's wrong. The environmentalists were fighting over this for years. Mostly because he was cutting through the rainforest with endangered gorillas. Then there's Cross Riverians fighting the governor over non payment after taking land which you can find on YouTube.

ALSCON reminds closed not because of environmentalists but because of government corruption. The supreme court ruled in BFI Group favor yet the government hasn't obeyed court order years after. Nigerians are their own problem. The steel plant was about litigation and government ineptitude.

You really should research this issue. You would have known that the governor wanted to use 25% of the states land for this project before the federal government stepped in. This project didn't fail EIA 3 times for nothing.

Thank you. You obviously know cross river well. This clueless governor comes with his self-serving 'projects' and people outside the state buy it and think he is progressive. He has taken us back 16 years. What we see are shady 'projects' with empty buildings, the ownership of these companies, are murky and shrouded in controversy like the so-called garment factory. Mr governor wants to cut down millions of trees, in the process destroying millions of acres of rainforest and endangered species. Cross river' s rainforests is one of the richest in biodiversity in Africa. Oh, and did I mention the governor's family is heavily into the logging business? angry angry A logger's paradise that 'conservation people' and 'bloody villagers' will not let them chop down. A super highway. How convenient.

Thanks I try to be informed on topics i bring here. This one too important to let the usually half truths fly. It's weird people are too lazy to read up on the issue. They mouth breathers on this thread see highway then instantly through their senses away. I didn't even know his family was involved with logging business. That explains why the idiot couldn't be bothered about avoiding the rainforest.

I still remember when he promised the superhighway would have Wi-Fi on it. It's only because laws like land use act exist that governors can act in this capacity in the name of development. In places with eminent domain laws you'd pay these guys before starting work.

I have attached the original gazatte showing how this man siezed 20.4 km width for his road (25% of cross river land) until he fought t a standstill.
It is February 2018. Until now Ben Ayade has not paid ONE KOBO for all the farms he destroyed. Including cocoa, and othe trees that take years to grow. People have had to pull kids out of school. And he is speaking grammar about detractors. He has no money to do this road. No investor despite all the boast he keeps changing the names. All he wants to do is do "clearing" and sell timber to his Asian friends who attended his swearing in. As we speak he has successfully logged so much timber without a kobo going into the state treasury.
Meanwhile Ebonyi that fixed existing roads has diverted all traffic from calabar going to abuja or lagos. this man wants to leave road he can see to fix and cut through virgin forest and build 53 bridges without money.
I dont know what we did to deserve this man.
He almost succeeded in taking 10km on either side in the name of one road. 20.4km WIDTH. Until communities that were about to be wiped out fought and cried to FG for help.

To add to the discussion I have attached the original gazette showing how this man seized 20.4 km width for his road (25% of cross river land) until he fought t a standstill. The Map shows just how much land visually this ONE MAN wanted to take. We like road... not this type abeg
