"Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness."

Second lesson: Revelation: 21:1-2

" And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away: and there was no more sea. And I John saw the Holy City, New Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband."

Golden text: Revelation: 14:7

"Saying with a loud voice. Fear God and give glory to Him; for the hour of His judgement has come: and worship Him who made heaven and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of water."

Brethren, the texts above form the theme of our revelation. The difference between the real worshippers of God and worshippers of men is that the former serve God and the latter work for human beings. In the world, you cannot render any service to any person except you are given gratification. Before somebody accepts to preach to a group of people, he has already agreed with the people on condition of being given a fee. Whoever renders a service is paid and without a fee is no service rendered. Such a person does not worship God but a human being. Another form of man worship is when an eye-service is rendered. When people are around you do not commit any vice, you pretend to be righteous but when you are alone, you commit all sorts of atrocities. In such a situation you do not fear God but man.

5.1 WE OUGHT TO FEAR GOD RATHER THAN MAN

Whenever you want to do any good to somebody, you will make sure that every person in the community is present to witness what you are doing. This is another form of man worship. Lip service is yet another form, when you are prepared to flatter. You may be assigned to a certain duty, which you proffer but not performed. If you give a piece of advice to somebody and he derives some benefits from it because he had complied with it, then you gallivant about telling people that you are the brain behind the man's success and that without your advice he would not have succeeded, such an action tantamounts to man worship. Always you fear and respect the man you see but you neither fear God nor worship Him. The worship of God consists in your rendering a service without a fee or praise, you toil but do not count the costs, labour and without asking for any reward. You render free service to people without being asked. When you give advice or make presents, do them free of charge and in secret, do not make any announcement believing that you do them to God and not to man. You do not want any person to thank you or to praise you for what you have done. You should not even wait for people to come around to see what you have done. This amounts to worshipping God in spirit and in truth. Wherever you are and whatever your condition always do good even in the forest or at your house, concentrate in doing good, do not tell lies or bear grudge against any person, you should be unchangeable in your behaviour, constant wherever you are. You have heard that God is Omnipresent, He is also Omniscient and He is Omnipotent. If, therefore, you should take these attributes of God for a truth then you would remain constant and unchanging in your good conduct. If you do not sin when you are in the market or in your room or in your office, you are a true worshipper of God. However if you do not sin while in the open but sin when you are alone, then you are worshipping man.
