Acne is a skin disease that affects both male and female between 40 and 50 million people. Acne is a disease that causes pimples. Acne can affect anyone between the age of 25 and 44.

Acne affects the hair follicles and skin's oil glands. These oil glands make an oily substance called sebum. Acne is usually not a serious health threat, but it can cause scars.

You have to bear in mind that Hormone changes during puberty, before a woman’s monthly period, or after starting or stopping birth control can cause acne outbreaks.

It has also been found that no Doctors know what causes acne, but taking care of your skin can prevent outbreaks from becoming worse.

Most pimples can be found in any area of the body like shoulders, back, face, neck, and chest.
Anyone can get acne, but it is common for teenagers and young adults.

HOW DOES ONE GET A PIMPLE

We are told that acne causes a pimple and pimple can occur when the oil face glands produce oil in more quality, and this oil combines with dead skin cells, thereby blocking the hair follicles and pores.

The bacteria in the plug cause swelling and develop in those clogged and pores, thereby causes pimples.
Some other factors can make the breakouts of a pimple worse.

They include environmental factors, hormones, stress, heredity, exercise, diet, used yoga mats, dirty cell phone, and how you care for your skin. Other hidden factors include wearing greasy makeup, taking certain medicines.

WHAT ARE THE TYPES OF PIMPLES?

There are six types of pimples which includes;

1. Cysts: they are very large, painful, and solid. Cysts are pus-filled.

2. Papules: papules are hard, raised bumps that might be tender to touch, small pink bumps that can be tender.

3: whiteheads: they caused by oil, dead skin cell. They are pimples that stay under the surface of the skin.

4: Nodules: nodules are deeper pimples that should be treated by a dermatologist. They are large and painful.

5: Blackheads: they are caused for oil, bacteria and dead cell. These dead cells build up and block the pores. These types of pimples look black, and the black color is not from dirt.

6: Pustules: pustules are often confused with whiteheads. They are pimples that are red at the bottom and have white or yellow pus on top.

For people that have already gotten the acne, many factors can make it worse, and they include; stress, pollution and high humidity, hard scrubbing of the skin, pressure from bike helmets, tight collars and squeezing or picking at pimples.

HOW TO TREAT ACNE

1: avoid the sun

2: Over-the-counter or prescription drugs like azelaic acid, benzoyl
peroxide, and salicylic acid.

3: clean your skin gently

4: you can use creams to treat it

5: avoid touching your skin.

6: Several types of birth control pills help against acne in women.

7: retinoid and Antibiotics are available in formulations that are applied to the skin and taken by mouth for the treatment of acne.

8: Isotretinoin pills are usually reserved for severe acne due to greater potential side effects.

There are several health professionals may treat acne, and this health professional includes; Dermatologists, who treat skin problems, family or General or physicians, and Pediatricians, who diagnose and treat children.
