However, in the ‘giant of Africa’, you have not even begun. Thanks to various antagonistic factors, the average Nigerian phone user doesn’t only need a SIM card anymore―if ever. These 8 phone accessories are must-buys.
(This article is particularly useful to those returning to or planning to visit Nigeria).

1.Ear Buds




When you’re stuck in traffic on that bus with those boisterous fellows sitting beside you arguing politics and you’re tryina’ distract yourself with some cool tunes; or when you’re driving and you gotta pick that call from ‘The Mrs.’, nothing takes the place of these lovelies.
Whether they are the big headphones or the thinner ear plugs, plugged in directly or connected via Bluetooth; these phone accessories have found permanent spots next to our phones.

Your phone notifies you that the battery percentage is too low for active/radio use and it’s about to shutdown.
No worries―as long as you’ve got one of these babies.
They come in various shapes and sizes, with various charge storage abilities. Some can even power laptops and netbooks too.
Most are charged by connecting them to AC/DC sources, but nowadays―thanks to increased advocacy for eco-friendly gizmos, there are those that are being recharged by solar energy. Some (like the one below) even have extra features like torches.

3. SPARE BATTERIES



Let’s face it.
Sometimes even the best power banks can fail at crucial moments. Probably due to charge discharges or issues with the storage capacity.
With a spare battery handy, you’re quite insured for important moments as making emergency calls or checking out what’s trending on social media. (Believe me, even that can be an emergency).

Whether you’re using them to charge your gadgets or transferring data between devices, USB cables are inexpendable. It is quite the norm nowadays to stash them in handy places like hand bags or pant pockets for possible use on the go.

5. Flash drives/ Memory Sticks



Even after being offered gigabytes of memory on phone storage, the space just never seems to be enough. Thanks largely to those new releases by the artistes, authors, athletes, public figures or brands we follow.
Keep one of these storage devices handy and you’re quite covered.
They come in all sizes and shapes too..and some use detachable SD cards for storage.

6. SD Cards/ Memory Cards




They find their uses directly slotted into phones or, as described above, to flash drives.
Very handy for transferring data across devices.

7. Card readers/ adapters




In the absence of an appropriate flash drive, a card reader will do the trick if you want to link up a card to a computer system.

8. Chargers/ Charger heads



It’s no news that phones charge faster when plugged in directly to an electric outlet than when plugged in to power banks or computers. Besides, having the appropriate charger hear also lets you charge in automobiles.

many areas of Nigeria is pushing the denizens to such extremes.

I have seen Nigerians perform 'wonders' on these foreign gadgets time and time again.
Won't be surprised if I see that they find a way to remove the batteries of such devices.

About the fake cables, I guess shopping online for stuff on popular stores is safer.
