The Nigeria Police Force has created a new hashtag in reaction to the #EndSARS movement which followed series of complaints shared online by Nigerian youths on alleged harassment, assault by the Special Anti-robbery squad, SARS.

The police has called on Nigerians to support the #ReformSARS movement in a bid to become better, and serve the county better.

Recall, that the Inspector General of Police, (IGP) Idris Kpotun directed the immediate reorganizarion of SARS,renamed squad, and provided number for complaints.
According to the force, the new #ReformSARS is to reposition the Federal SARS (FSARS ) to respect human rights and for more efficient and effective delivery to Nigerians.
The police, in a statement on its Twitter handle wrote: ”The IGP concerned with Public Interest on allegations, complaints & grievances of some members of the public, especially those on Social Media, against the activities of some members of SARS has so far made consequent orders for the rehabilitation & reform of SARS. #ReformSARS
”This reorganization was announced four days ago. We are certain that Nigerians have begun to see the impact of these reforms and in the coming days, it would even be more visible. #ReformSARS

”Irrespective of some infractions from few personnel of SARS who allegedly acted against the ethics of the Police Profession which are now being investigated, majority of Police personnel attached to SARS are good, sound, disciplined and commendable officers. #SupportSARS
”We assure the general public that we are sieving out the wheat from the chaff in this regard. #ReformSARS #SupportSARS
”We must also highlight that the Federal SARS (FSARS) play a fundamental role in Nigeria’s Security architecture. #ReformSARS #SupportSARS
”SARS personnel have been primarily instrumental to dropping the previously high rate of crime such as armed robbery across the country; we must not discountenance their good work – which they continue to do. #ReformSARS #SupportSARS

”We also commend Nigerians, who out of patriotism, called for these reforms in SARS. Rest assured we are a listening Force working for the good of our country. #ReformSARS #SupportSARS
”We call on Nigerians to Support FSARS to become better, and serve the county better. Thank you. #ReformSARS #SupportSARS

Rubbish!

Medicine after burial.

The police force should be disbanded and start all afresh with strict procedures for intake.
This is the only permanent solution.

In the meantime #EndSARS

Really? Think about it deeply and you'll realise that the Police is not the problem. You see - The SOCIETY is the problem! The police is merely a product of society.
---
If you doubt me, then tell me any sector in Nigeria that is not as corrupt and high-handed as the police. You won't find any, you know why? - because they are all products of society.

A corrupt society births corrupt........everything!

you are very correct. People criticize the police more because they see them on daily basis in the open, but they also forget to criticise those seated in their offices extorting more than their salaries from the people.
