Tanker loaded with petrol explodes, damages 20 cars in FESTAC

A tanker loaded with Premium Motor Spirit, otherwise called petrol, has reportedly tumbled along Festac Link Bridge in Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area of Lagos State, after which the substance it conveyed spilled away and exploded, which more than 20 vehicles and motorcycles were affected by the fire that erupted.

Sources told The Guild gathered that the Tanker was over loaded while moving towards FESTAC town, the vehicle could not move further at a point while it reversed, the driver lost control which resulted to the tanker falling and spilling its content, although no life was lost.

They alleged that Fire Fighters came to the scene of the incident which happened on Wednesday afternoon after about 30 minutes, but they could do less since they had no water to put off the fire.

One of the sources who [lead anonymity said that the residents in the community tried their best by quenching the fire with buckets of water, but it could do less, rather, the fire continue.
