The Reason Why Yorubas Lost PDP Chairmanship But Not Because Of Many Candidates by perez100: 7:22pm On Dec 13, 2017
The game of using many candidates from one region contesting for one position as a reason for their failure to get the post has been a ploy to deny that region that particular position. Why must you drop your candidate B just because A and C refused to step down for B? If PDP was serious having a Chairman from Yoruba, they should have ignored other Aspirants for their preferred candidate. Why calling it an election and at the same time telling others to step down for one person? It then becomes selection. In 2007 PDP Presidential Primary, Yaradua was not the only PDP Candidate from the North but the PDP government chose and supported him against Rochas who was the only Igbo candidate. Again, in 2015 APC Presidential Primary, Buhari was not the only APC Candidate from the North but APC supported him against Rochas who was the only Igbo candidate. They have been using 'many candidates' as a reason to deny Igbos that elusive highest position, why some tribes keep shouting " Igbos are not united."
