If you were baptized by sprinkling or as a baby, then you can be baptized again but, by immersion.

The significance of baptism is, dying with Christ (the immersion) and resurrecting with Christ. Jesus was baptized as a baby, but when he became an adult, He was baptized by John the Baptist (by immersion).

If you were baptized by immersion in your former church but, they're insisting you must be baptized again by immersion, I'll advice you walk away. We are just too religious in this country. If your services will not be accepted by the church simply because you refused to be baptized a second time, then so be it. Your service is to God and NOT to the pastor or church.

Sweetheart you don't need to be re-baptized as long gone as you serve the same Jesus and for a pastor to tell you something like that he has a bias mind about his faith you need to preach to him instead. Just tell him you are good and churches like that you have to be very careful of their teachings. I mean no harm dear, love the fact you love church though.

I don't know how church membership is executed in Nigerian churches, but in American churches, if a person begins attending a new church of the same faith or of a different denomination, then he or she can do a membership transfer...or statement of "faith" where he or she doesn't physically get baptized...but agrees to the biblical beliefs of the newly attended church or denomination.
In regards to the concept of re-baptism, there are instances where a person may have made choices or lived in direct contrast to what he/she knows Christ requires in terms of holiness.
So if a person decides to re-commit his/her life to Christ, then a re-baptism would be appropriate.
So that would be a personal choice...but it would not be wrong.
If that church has a specific way of doing things, then you need to be prayerful about either deciding "yes" or "no".

I have been baptized twice... Honestly, i tried to reason with the church(name withheld).
I feel, churches should accept baptism from other church(es) if there is proof of baptism.
I wish i could say more but i told myself to watch what i say when it comes to religious matters in public.

Yes I did. If you were still living in sin in you formal church do or u baptise by sprinkling. U need baptism by immersion. That is the truth

It is not wrong to be baptised by immersion more than once.
Churches give certificate as evidence of one's baptism as well as one's membership of the mission.
Even though the Bible is not specific on being baptised more than once, it specifies the baptism to be by immersion. But this is not an opportunity to abuse it.
I did the baptism by immersion 3 times within 14 years in order to get the certificate in the same mission as it was not given in the first two instances. It did not stop God from relating with me.

Well, what makes you think a church in Yenogoa has a branch in Aba? I attend a Megachurch in Lagos that has no branch anywhere in Lagos and beyond. So, if I relocate to a place like Edo State, should I then not look forward to where I can enjoy Godly family experience?

No don't get baptized. Can you be born twice?

Church doctrines can be terrible at times.

The church I attend once you have been properly baptized ( by immersion not sprinkling) in a bible believing church.

You just go through the foundational class and when its time for baptism you give them a copy of your certificate and a certificate of completion of your beginners class will be given while others that go for baptism will be given baptisimal cert which you can present as evidence even when you change churches.
