In a sane society after GTB pays innoson for those fraudulent charges, CBN will be forced to initiate a full scale investigation into the bank to see if others were affected and then slam a hefty fine on that bank.

If Innoson does have some fake customs claim etc, that is a different ball game and an entirely different case.

What about the loan he obtained from GT Bank, there could be a sort of agreement which he didn't keep. GT Bank is a standard bank and can't just take up a case like this if it will ruin their reputation. No need for him to accept 7%; you only do that when you are negotiating from a position of weakness. He had already accepted GTB's audit report of N500mil as against the N700mil he noticed and which an external auditor confirmed. That one is enough compromise.

I like how he insisted on 22%, now who is losing? Even if the case lingers at the supreme court for another 5yrs, GTB will pay a calculated sum in addition with the 22% counting till when the case ends. They will still pay the legal fees of Innoson, so who lost?

22% of 500mil would have been an extra N120mil which takes the sum to maybe N600mil or N700mil. Now they have incurred liabilities in excess of N6bil which may rise to N10bil by the time the case is concluded.

They need to fire their entire legal department!

The story is very clear on why EFCC is arresting Inosson. GTB made up some allegations of forged documents against Innoson , and of course our compromised security governance system is always at hand to do the yo-man's job. GTB needed to divert attention while continuing business as usual with the arrested man's funds
