I like the way every inch of setback is paved between the buildings and the road......soil and sand accumulation will be reduced on this stretch of road! Government should make it mandatory for residents to either pave or grass all open soil on road set backs.........and of course demolish all illegal shade projections and attachments to houses and walls............thankfully Awka capital authority is beginning to enforce these laws!

Awka Capital Territory Development Authority is doing a good job but it needs to be coded into law. The government needs to revisit business licensing and require compliance not just for projections but also things like:

- Approved Signage
- Waste Collection and Disposal
- Water and toilet facilities for plazas, food, pharmacies, etc.
- Clean gutters
- Non blockage of pavements or electrical poles

They should also look into the Keke business and set a timeframe for phasing it completely out in the capital and big cities like Onitsha. We are not India.

Finally, seaman gigantic rice mill in Nnobi, idemili south lga Anambra state has commenced

The packaging is top notch 👍

God bless Anambra state
God bless Igboland

This life no balance oo. Quietly Anambra has gotten like 4 rice mills that are actually producing rice. Lagos state that was disturbing the media space about building the largest rice mill in Africa is still there. The rice mill is complete but no rice no mill. Sometimes too much noise is not good at all.

When will SE leaders start building infrastructures like people who have traveled out before. You are building road with stone base, no sidewalks, no covered drainages. Just latrite and coal tar.

The hatred I have for these unsightly projections and shop attachments is beyond expression, they are such an eyesore,an American friend that visited (2022) noticed it immediately he touched down in Awka from Abuja........en route Enugu ! He said Awka was a beehive of confusion, guyman no even reach Onitsha! We know our people find solace in the informal sector but government can accommodate them while enforcing minimum standards..................someone will attach a shop to his building and proceed in his illegality to build a shade in front of the shop......all enclosed in the usual ubiquitous metal cage !! at the end of business day,he pulls down a tarpaulin to cover the monument of shame!

TRENDING OCHANJA ROAD: FACTS NOT FICTION

After an on-the-spot visit to the trending Ochanja road to ascertain the veracity of the viral video, the following facts are hereby presented:

-- That the video did not capture the actual portion of the road, which is less than two (2) feet.

-- That the road in question is an active construction site, and work is seriously ongoing, even as of yesterday, Monday, March 25, 2024.

-- The portion of Ochanja Road was asphalted yesterday and couldn't cure and stabilize properly before the downpour.

-- That the cause of the heavy water body that affected the less than 2 feet of the asphalted portion was a silted drainage.

-- The stone base alone on that portion of the road, and indeed the long stretch of the entire road is solid and very much intact.

-- The creator of the video grossly exaggerated the situation by showing portions of a different road that is not under construction.

-- That the ongoing road has not been completed and commissioned by the government of Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo CFR.

-- That only the Port Harcourt Road and Niger Street Road have been commissioned by Governor Soludo in Onitsha South LGA, and they are very firm and solid.

-- The story is, at best, a deliberate distortion and overbloating of reality by mischief makers.

Anambra deserves better than this rubbish road constructions going in the state. Look at the qualifying of road that a governor is constructing for its citizens. A road that looks like it won't last beyond one year.

I can't stand those projections. It's is one of the major reasons our majors towns looks chaotic and third world.

The most painful part is that those projections has taken over where the walkway should be built making pedestrian to walk on the roads which is dangerous

The roads are not that bad na! for me it is the shabby look of the Onitsha business and commercial environment that irks me...even Aba appears a bit more sanitized! For people to appreciate all the roads being built in onitsha.......all those makeshift extensions/shanties must go!

After road, Onitsha needs a robust waste management system.

The traders needs to start keeping their market and environment neat. Any market that refuse to enforce this should be closed down until they adhere to instruction. The state government should also reduce environmental levy for them so that they can handle the cleaning of the market themselves

You people should stop posting nonsense in this thread. Going by the evidence on ground Onitsha is a lot better than the dirty glorified village Owerri and pigsty ghetto that’s Aba. Anambra shall continue to be the best and most developed state in igboland
