Stop yapping rubbish. It is the best in the SE. As for Awka ICC it has long been awarded to a foreign reputable contractor since last year, some has posted the updated pictures here recently.

mktinsight:

Not the best hotel but functional for VIP visitors to the state due to its remoteness and high security. Next they should try to build a proper Conference Center in Awka so that they can start hosting international conferences and show that the state is open for business. Lets hope Obiano does not award that contract to his friends or kinsmen and get shoddy work in return.

Rebuilding Work On Enugwu-Ukwu General Hospital Advances

State government has called for increased private sector partnership and collboration with the State to ensure unhindered access to quality health care by the State citizenry.

Deputy Governor, Dr. Nkem Okeke made the call when he paid an inspection visit to the ongoing rehabilitation work site of Enugwu-Ukwu General Hospital, Enugwu-Ukwu in Njikoka Council Area.

The Enugwu-Ukwu General Hospital is one of the three General Hospitals designated for rehabilitation in the three Senatorial Zones by Governor Willie Obiano.

On arrival, ABS sighted an ongoing building on the site, which is already at the deck level, while labourers were seen mixing concrete and working.

On completion, the two floor building will house wards, consulting rooms, theatres, diagnosing centres and maternity.

While expressing satisfaction at the quality of work, Deputy Governor Okeke said that medicare remains a top priority to the present administration, which is why it has shown commitment, but regretted that funding has been a major challenge.

While assuring of State government’s readiness to finance the project to completion, the Deputy Governor pointed out that the Governor recently approved and released some funds for work to continue, adding that there is another part of the contract that still needs to be approved for them to get additional funding.

Mr Eric Nnajiuba, representing the contractor handling the project promised that with the continued assistance from the government, the project will be completed by early next year.

He said that though a number of challenges exist here and there which is not unusual, State government has been giving them required assistance, expressing optimism that the critical aspects of the project will be addressed to complete it in record time.

Dr Herbert Agbasi, a Senior Medical Officer who spoke on behalf of the Chief Medical Director of Enugwu-Ukwu General Hospital, expressed joy that increased activities are being witnessed on the site, after few months of almost non activity, hoping that the project will be completed within the period of their stay.

What they need to do with all the General Hospitals is to structure it properly and finance it properly. They need to get some diaspora top doctors on the board of directors, get top personalities on it, partner with international donor agencies, multinationals for equipments and drug funding and then fundraise to ensure all are staffed with well paid doctors. ANSG should create a General Hospital endowment fund and aim to raise around $5 million per hospital to ensure quality. Dump that money into a low-risk investment vehicle yielding at least 5% per year to be used to pay good doctors.

There are well over 1,000 medical practictioners of Anambra origin in the United States. Just getting donations of $5,000 from them is $5 million or 1/4 of the way there. Billionaires and millionaires can surely kick in the rest of the money.

Ain't it funny how all those sad 'Omambala/Anambra' supremacists have abandoned this nice thread where, if they loved Anambra so much, they could have been discussing it's progress, unity and development? Instead these so called 'Omambalans' have gone and parked their divisive, Igbo hating arrses on the Pan-Igbo thread 24/7, insisting on telling those of us who couldn't care less how 'Omambala' is different from the rest of Alaigbo and how they have charted a developmental course different from the rest of the region! smiley

Firstly you aren't Igbo. So why are you hovering in all Igbo related threads like an evil spirit? undecided

What's your definition of who is or isn't Igbo
Re: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by TEDHorsePower: 2:36pm On Nov 11, 2018
We shall take you by your own admission. You said you are from Rivers state, why not create a Rivers thread where you can at least discuss about the progress of Rivers state.

If you weren't so dense you'd have realised this silly post of yours i'm quoting is better directed towards you and your nasty ilk!

I am Igbo...from Rivers State, this much you know! Do you also know i'm more passionate about my God-given ethnic identity (Igbo) rather than an identity foisted on me without my consent by the likes of Gowon and others? This act of Gowon was done to dismember and weaken Alaigbo, so why the fuc/k should i be more interested in Rivers state over and above pan-Igbo issues?

You on the other hand, prefer to champion Omambala/Anambra issues and unity over and above pan-Igbo unity! I have no problem with this....each to his own mate!

Where i have a problem is when you and you ilk (that prefer Omambala over Umuigbo in general) leave the Anambra thread where you have ample opportunity to w'ank yourselves senseless over your Omambala supremacist agenda, and instead park yourselves 24/7 on the pan-Igbo thread that's meant for guys like myself! This clearly shows you're up to no good, and are an insecure, hypocritical and paranoid case that needs to be pitied!

I just received word that hon. Rita maduagwu of anambra state house of assembly has been impeached as the speaker. Can anyone residing in anambra confirm the authenticity of this news. Madam speaker is not picking my calls and I hope it's a rumour.
