Chairman of Stercoll Group Worldwide, Dr Emeka Kalu has condemned the brutish and gestapo – style arrest of Dr Innocent Chukwuma, Chairman of Innoson Group, and sole producer of motor vehicles in Nigeria.

Dr. Kalu who spoke to journalists through his social media handle from the United States wondered why Nigeria does not appreciate nor honour its prized personalities.

The former aspirant for Abia governorship under APGA frowned at the silence of the Federal Government over the shameful act, and also condemned the involvement of GTBank in the while quagmire.

He therefore called for the immediate release of INNOSON by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commissioned, EFCC.

“A country like Nigeria should be supportive of its investors, but the reverse is the case here. Look at Innoson, instead of giving him the needed support which would boost the image of the country and make it possible for us to join other nations with indigenous vehicle companies, everything imaginable is being done to ensure that he fails. This was how Dr Izuogu’s inventions were totally destroyed, after he began his project of becoming the first African to make a motor vehicle.

“How can this country ever move forward? How can this country ever come to anything? Even the banks who stand to gain in the long run are not helping matters? Nigeria brings tears to our eyes, especially we who are abroad. This is impunity of the highest order. Was he even invited to EFCC and he refused to go? Why harass and embarrass him like a common criminal?”

The oil investor therefore called on the EFCC to, as a matter of urgency release INNOSON and save the nation from the embarrassment.

“Even if INNOSON lacks the finances to fund his project, its the responsibility of the country to fund him. It is shameful that a man who has made Nigeria stand out as a member nation in vehicle manufacturing has become reduced to such shame. I hereby call on the authorities of this country to free him immediately”, Kalu stated.

He is an igbo man so he must be humiliated, look at dangote after all the dubious licenses he got from successive governments he was awarded with the highest honour in Nigeria. Shame on Nigeria nation.
