The Action Democratic Party (ADP) has described the over $1bn earmarked by the federal government to wrestle insurgency in the country as a broad day robbery, adding that there is no Boko Haram to fight.

In a exclusive chat with Daily Sun, on Thursday, in Abuja, Chairman of ADP, Yusuf Sani, said that the money was budgeted to gag opposition ahead of the 2019 general election, which negates the core values of democracy.

Said he, ” We know that there is no insurgency to combat. It is a case of robbing the people at the highest level of governance. The APC government knows that they haven’t done anything, so they want to rob the citizenry of their free choice.

“This government is much more corrupt. In fact corruption is endemic. It took this administration almost two years to accept that the SGF dubed the federation. And they have still refused to allow the EFCC take up the case.

“They want to bastardized the system more than what we have seen before. Even the 2017 budget suffered setback. Here we are in 2018 capital budget.

Recall that the federal government in conjunction with state governors had voted $1 billion to tackle insurgency across the federation.

Sani added that the federal government should be transparent in her dealings.


“We need to entrench the dividend of democracy, where the peoples say would count.

” We have no reason to be where we are today. Because every state has something to offer,” he added.
