Does anyone know how i can verify the authenticity of my international driving permit issued in Nigeria? I want to be sure it is genuine before using it abroad because i dont know if the police abroad has a way of verifying it

You hardly need this when you drive outside the country and I doubt if it is valid without a regular drivers license.
My advice; your regular drivers license should be with you always. Only present an international driving permit at request.
To the best of my knowledge, International driving permits are of utmost importance if your local license is not in English

What Is International Driving Permit?
An IDP is a document that allows an individual to drive a private vehicle in another country; it is slightly larger than a standard passport and it is complete with one’s photographs and other statistical data.

The IDP is recognized in Maryland, Washington DC and California in the U.S. as well as Germany, Turkey, Switzerland, Poland, Spain, Austria and Sweden in Europe.
