Amazon has reportedly filed two trademarks requests namely “Amazontube” and “Opentube” after search engine giant Google, pulled YouTube from its Echo device. Describing both Amazontube or Opentube as providers of “non-downloadable pre-recorded audio, visual and audiovisual works via wireless networks”, according to Amazon users can share content, photos videos, text, data, images, other electronic works, gaming, dance, fashion, and tech via the medium.

The online retail giant and the second-largest private employer of labour in the US has gone further to register a series of domain names which include, AlexaOpenTube.com, AmazonAlexaTube.com, and AmazonOpenTube.com in preparation for the launch. Although the company has not officially announced this to the public but we hope to see how this plays out.

Echo Show is an Alexa-powered device that includes a screen which brings YouTube videos to millions for users until Google decided to end support for the device.

Remember the last year noise by Facebook which till today is nowhere to be seen.

There's a reason why Facebook totally backed out in that venture.
I'm not discouraging anyone, just making a realistic point.

We hope to see what they will offer. Its new and it will be hard to compete with Google but lets see if their success in the retail business will rub off on this.

they have been successful in a lot of things yet they have never made profit from it. if dollar stop flowing through new investment. it will collapse like pack of card. alibaba group is a good version of what we call e commerce.

The only reason why Amazon wanna launch a YouTube competitior is because by 1st of next year, YouTube will exit Amazon products. It's not Google's fault tho, Amazon started all this mess when they stopped selling Google products in their stores because of theirs and Google fought back with this.


It will be great if they can settle their dispute so we can keep enjoying YouTube on Amazon stick

Of course, it has to be free otherwise it's DOA. And then they need to convince people to upload their videos to their Amazontube instead of the YouTube.
