The incident began when a hunter's group in hilux van hit a Keke NAPEP rider and pushed him into a culvert
- The hunter called Lieutenant Adamu then punctured the tyres of the NAPEP operator
There was a protest in Gaidam, Yobe state when residents blocked streets by burning tyres in protest of what they described as 'inhuman treatment' by an army lieutenant, who punctured the tyres of NAPEP operators in the town, Daily Trust reports.
"It took us more than three hours calming down the protesters but, things are now under control," he said.
The incident which took place on Tuesday morning, December 26, when hunter's group in hilux van hit a Keke NAPEP rider close to Kafila Primary School and pushed him into a culvert.
One of the protesters lamenting said:
"We were at scene trying to rescue the Keke NAPEP rider, who was badly injured, when the hunter called Lieutenant Adamu came and punctured the tyres of all the tricycles around. It's cruel, because he didn’t even asked of what transpired.

"Onlookers started shouting "Bama so", meaning, "We don't like it", and the protest begun. Within short time, tyres were on flames all over and the entire business activities closed."
