There are thousands of Nigerians living there doing their usual stuff, which is why we still require a visa for a visit while many of our neighbors don't.We have messed up reputation in Asia.
We have bad image everywhere.

Last I checked, phillipinos are fond of leaving their countries.

For Nigerians to consider going to the Philippines to study, a state of emergency should be declared on the education sector. grin
Like seriously it is very sad indeed. This (Phillipines) is a country with just one university (The University of Phillipines UP) ranked in the Times Higher Education in the 601-800 band, same situation with Nigeria, UI ranked 801-1000. It's just a waste of money going to such a place for a degree cos the schools there are of same standard with ours, if not even worse.

You are right. I had to go myself to see after the complain and it was disgusting. The treatment at the was the worst i have ever seen. I never saw something like that in all the countries i visited. The gate men were literally asking for bribe together with a lady who the embassy kept to check the documents. She was insulting the nigerian kids looking for visa. This kids were scared of her.
They did notting to get that treatment...they were only going to Philippinesto study!!!
The gateman and woman, are they not Nigerians, if they are, should that surprise you? Nigeria is a bribe taken country and those that are fortunate to get a job play god. Nigerian leaders are bribe takers also. May God help us.

people should understand that travelling to other country doesn't mean ure going there to look for money. there are other thousands of reason.
and for the fact that a country is poorer doesn't mean they have nothing better to offer.
for your information Philippines as a country is poorer than Nigeria but things are far much more well organized than in Nigeria here including their education system. infact people from western countries including so call US come there to school, especially their medical which is fashion just like american medical system.
back to the issue on ground, as per the security head in the embassy known as kayode he his not a sincere and straight forward person, then for the other lady I reserve my comment.
cheers

Phillipines has the highest number of homeless people in the world with some of them living in old cemetries.
Phillipinos/as are scattered all over the world in search of greener pasture. Why would anyone leave one hell hole for another?

But Nigerians believe anywhere is better than Nigeria.

Due to various reason with the Higher education in Nigeria
Nigerian student have been trooping into the Philippines for their university studies in thousands!!!!
1. Nigerians are required to apply for visas and as of today pay an application fee of 15000naira which goes into the Philippines account.
Is it your 15000

2. They have to authenticate their documents at the foreign affairs in Manila, Philippines WHICH COST alot of money and in turn helps the Philippines economy
Did the appliers complain

3. Various other things they have to pay for when they arrive , to study in the Philippines which means the Philippines is in turn is benefiting from the Nigerians.
advantages of fixing your country

The Nigerians are treated like Animals at the Philippines embassy in Gwarimpa Abuja, Nigeria
The gate men at the Philippines embassy Abuja Nigeria have the audacity to ask for bribes from citizens that obviously do not know their right. A gate man has no right to even look at your documents!
Nigerians behave like animals
Why shouldn't gate men check your credentials
Abi you wan make 15000 enter voicemail

There is a lady also who is supposed to check for documents but instead abuse the Nigerians who go to the embassy. she calls them all sorts of names.
Her job is just to check the documents!!!!!

Don't they deserve to be abused
Look at the damned country and they are supposed to be leaders of tmrw yet they all abandoning ship

please I'M not here to questions about why Nigerians go to study in the Philippines but to be in the shoes of the Nigerian who are treated badly at the embassy
If you won't question the reason for leaving why are you questioning the repercussion

I went there myself just to understand the complains I have received. i personally do not need a visa to go to the Philippines but my attention was called on this, and i would like to get people to share their experience to please drop a message here so that people can be aware in Nigeria about what Nigerians are experiencing at the Philippines embassy Abuja Nigeria!!!.
Ppl are aware at all embassies even Nigerian ones abroad are worse

it is the right of every human being to be treated well and respected and this case should be treated seriously
It is a privilege which we have sold for mess of pottage

Thank you. please share this and post if you have ever been affected or heard anything about this

after sharing what will happen
