For me, as a Christian, and other Christians know this.:the workings of miracles, not magic now, requires some level of faith from the intended recipient. In my faith, without faith, no one can please God. The Bible is replete with cases of people who got miracles in their lost faith. Some had little faith, some weak, but all who got miracles from God had faith.
I encourage you to read the Bible even if you're not a Christian instead of blindingly stumbling on and staggering out of my post.
