Fulani herdsmen's umbrella group, ‘Mobgal Kautal Hore Fulbe,’ has raised alarm over alleged silent killing of herdsmen and stealing of their cattle in Numan and Demsa local government areas in Adamawa State.

According to Daily Post, the group in a meeting in Yola, said over 4000 herdsmen and their families were displaced by the crisis, following the burning down of their villages, along the banks of River Benue by Bachama militia.

Speaking at the meeting, the North east vice chairman, Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Alhaji Mafindi Umaru Danburam, said over 500 cattle were now missing.

Danburam, who accused federal government of being one-sided in the crisis, accused the Vice President Yemi Osinbanjo of discrimination by only visiting Bachama villages affected during his visit to the state.

“The Vice President did not visit Fulani villages which were attacked by the Bachamas, killing women and children but was quick to visit Bachama villages were attack.

“There has been cases of silent killings of members of Hausa-Fulani in the area, the latest is the abduction and killing of three Fulanis on transit and a traditional barber by Bachama vigilante group at Anguwar Green villages.

“We want to call on governments as matter of urgency to ensure the disarmament of vigilante groups in Numan and Demsa areas and deploy more security to the vulnerable areas,” he said.

It is very unfortunate that Buhari has been effectively blackmailed into not providing the Fulani with any sort of protection against attacks because he is Fulani. They attack and kill the Fulanis and nobody talks and when the Fulanis rise up to defend themselves everybody starts talking about killer fulani herdsmen. Till this day the Bachamas are blocking roads and going round Fulani villages killing them and yet everybody is silent. Currently there is ongoing orchestrared campaign of demonisation of the Fulanis in preparation for a full scale genocide. The government should wake up to its responsibility and provide security to every citizen irrespective of tribe or religion.

This is not entirely true.
There is nothing like orchestrated campaign because the President has been seen to have a soft spot for anything his clan.
Assume the President to have taken a definite stand on the fulanis when they started maiming and killing people in Enugu,Rivers,Abia,Benue, etc.,we would not have generated to this stage,do you now expect him to start arresting people who try to defend themselves?
The President goofed on this.....He was quick to solve the ipob crisis, such affirmative action would have been taken since with the fulani herdsmen trouble, then nobody will think of reprisals or risk arrest/jail.
When a President begins to define herdsmen as Libyans, and support clandestinely their course, people begin to see them selves as 'soft targets' and will defend themselves.

There are no worse oppressors than those who have been oppressed themselves for they will justify all means of self-preservation, including persecution and oppression of others, to the extent of, and worse than that which they had endured. This will weigh heavily on the souls of future generations.
(H.E)

Like your last line, the President must be seen to take action.Irrespective of their well-known troubles, the President has never mentioned Fulani herdsmen in any of his addresses, whether to put them in check or sth else, and he diverges any question that has to do with them......he is seen to be a stakeholder in this crisis because of his actions and inactions, and to get this right he must begin to call a spade,a spade and a gardenfork a gardenfork.

There is no justification, whatsoever for anyone to take the life of another..and Nigerians all over sympathise with the course of both the wounded and the bereaved.

The demonisation campaign is ongoing. Any crime perpetuated is attributed to the herdsmen even if there is nothing linking them to it. When they are attacked you never hear about the attack but any violence involving is magnified out of proportion. The silence on the killing of Fulani herdsmen and other forms of attacks is a pointer of a deliberate plan to hide the truth. Wait and see this thread would never make it to the front page.
When the Mambila people organised and carried out a genocide against the Fulani was Buhari not blackmailed not to carry out any action against the perpetuators? What of the recent Bachamas killing of over one hundred Fulani women and children in Numan local government of Adamawa state, did Buhari do anything against them?
The slanted media reports, illegal laws specifically targetting them and Buhari's inaction make the herdsmen feel that they are under a threat of being wiped out off the face of the earth.

What is bad,is bad......no one should support or justify murder or ethnic cleansing....
Everything stops at the table of the President...
But ask yourself...why did the killings exacerbate to this level, esp since 2015......some people are benefitting from this....
The President can stop this,
He stopped Maitatsine as a soldier
He stopped IPOB in record fashion...

Did nothing about bachamas, and Mambilla....what did he do to the 'Libyans and Nigeriens'?His doing nothing has emboldened people.
If OBJ had kept silent,do you think the OPC won't become a monster?what about MASSOB?

We both are saying the same thing, but the President should take action,You and I do not control the security agencies or do we?
The Benue people can also think that they should be the one saying what you are saying,hence...the President's silence has aggravated it thus far, especially certain comments that has not really sit into the consciences of people...politicians for whom they are now begin to exploit....

The President should and must stand fast.

What I am against is the one sided narrative which always portrays the Fulanis as the only aggressors and the others are justified to kill them them. The government has to take responsibility for the cycle of violence.

Whichever side does that,it is very very wrong morally and from all aspects.
There are evil people everywhere, across tribes and religions.....

Your last line is apt.....God Bless

Care to share with us any incedence of other groups (farmers) going to attack the Fulanis on their ancestral land ex: say in Jigawa, Katsina?
