jrusky: Your anger is not genuinely against the cattle colony policy. The tone of your comment easily give you away as a pro-PDP Ipobian still languishing in partisan pain over the 2015 electoral defeat of the PDP. If not, how come in your list of suspected pliable Southern states only APC controlled ones feature? You are so openly dishonest that after mentioning those states you don't want to be responded to because you know you lied and that all evidences actually point to the contrary. If you were sincerely not only using the cattle colony policy as an opportunity to vent some bottled up partisan anger you would definitely not have missed including in your crooked list the PDP controlled Bayelsa State where the governor, Seriake Dickson, has not only officially set aside over 1,2000 acres of scarce state land as grazing reserve for Fulani Herdsmen, but also sponsored thugs to beat up and injure Annkio Briggs and her supporters for staging a demonstration against that action. Yet you are masturbating over Edo, Ogun, Imo and Osun where their governors have not indicated any tendency to allocate lands for herdsmen. Your attitude is akin to a physician who ignores a known patient and busies himself trying to treat suspected patients. Of course to the average Ipobian whatever a PDP governor does can always be overlooked or at worst rationalized. More evidence keeps mounting every day that IPOB is just an arm of PDP. If you were genuine about your concern you would not have forgotten that so far Edo remains the only state in which an LGA (Ovia NE) undertook a Fulani targeted ethnic cleansing unlike your Enugu and Ebonyi which declared fasting and prayers when attacked by herdsmen. You also never watched The Edo State Governor's TV interview in which he wondered how he will be justified to turn down poultry, chicken, snail, and even crop farmers demand for free of charge state lands after he gives such Fulani Herdsmen. You also forgot that this cattle colony idea was actually born as a recommendation by the committee which was set up by your beloved darling GEJ who immediately the committee submitted its report, directed the then CBN Governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, to release N100bn to state governors to establish such ranches and colonies but with the governors most of whom were of the PDP endorsing it and accepting their allocations of it. Lest we forget, your hero and leader, Nnamdi Azikiwe, handed over political power to Hausa-Fulanis on a platter of gold at independence against every wise counsel hence the seemingly irreversible mess of Northern domination in which the South finds itself till today. Until you Ipobians learn to remove your pro-PDP lenses when looking at sensitive national issues, the South will continue to be at the mercy of the North. 1 Like |

If IPOB had killed in hundreds maybe, they would have allowed them to have Biafra state... This country is nothing but a fvcking sh!thole.. |

proeast: As much as I love this piece,, you are wrong about Jos north! The current caretaker chairman of Jos north is not a Hausa Fulani or muslim but a Plateau indigene christian. In the state house of reps for Jos north, out of the 3 constituencies, hausa muslims occupy only 1,while indigenes occupy 2. Not all the councillors in Jos north are hausa muslims! 6 are muslims but 7 are Christians! As for the federal house of rep for Jos north federal constituency, yes, he is a muslim but he is not a Hausa fulani, he is kofyar by tribe from Quanpan, a plateau indigene. Among all the traditional rulers and district heads in Jos, Hausas have none! 1 Like |

Sultan5: The people leading Nigeria are terribly dumb. For them to even use the word "colonies" mean they do not care about people sensitivities. If you want to sell an idea to someone or to a people, it's important to present it in ways that is not offending. How about using "Cattle Range" www.wordnik.com/words/cattle-range |

We in the south talk too much, whenever herdsmen attack they don't give prior notice or shout about it. Why can't we also start killing them quietly without coming to the news and crying because believe me the government doesn't give a hoot about how many people they(fulani herdsmen) kill in any state. The herdsmen are tools to islamise Nigeria, they have entered the next stage in that plan which is to create colony in every state. Whichever state that accepts this colony, accepts at it own peril |

Any Yoruba governor that accepts this offer from the evil president of Nigeria, Buhari, shall die a miserable death. This is a clear cut attempt to take over the whole Nigeria by the Fulanis. If the stupid cows calling themselves Fulanis cannot self solve their environmental challenges with respect to cattle rearing, then it means they are weak in the brain. Other states and ethnics too have challenges, but how many of them have come to use the influence of the government to inconvenience others this way? It would have been a different thing if the stupid Fulanis had portrayed themselves in a friendly manner, and had showed it's not their right in the first place to use other people's land anyhow with no recourse to the landowner's interest. It would have been sensible if the Ediots, the children of hell, Fulanis had not started the whole idea by way of genocide, killing innocent souls like they were their creators. This nonsense must be refuted by all well meaning Nigerians. It's time to stand up to defend your people, and any governor that accepts this offer both in the East and South West Nigeria, the legislative house of Assembly should start processing their impeachment immediately. It means they are insensitive to the voice of the masses who gave them the legitimacy of being the governor. This is so frustrating and terrible. In its worse state it's evil, and it's best, this situation is tantamount to oppression. |

Am not a northerner neither APC. I feel most comments here are short sighted and biased. Let's give it a trial. If colonies will stop this bloodbath let's do it. Cattle is a private business yes U forgot that Ngozi Okonjor Iwela and GEJ pumped billions into Nollywood. Today Nollywood contribute immensely to our GDP. Nig is the 14th country in the world with cattle. We don't Spend scares dollars for importantation. 1 Like |

This is not solely about cattle colony but Mr Buhari forcefully getting ready for his agenda. May i ask southern leaders, SS, SW, SE, and ND, hope they have not confused you out of restructuring with herdsmen as diversion? Tinubu, Affenifere warned you, but rather than listen you insulted your elders and now you are neither here nor there. What a big shame to you. Did you expect Mr Buhari to give your wife speaker position when Fulani are there? See how he disappointed you big time. |

Well said. Out of their hatred they want to throw baby away with bath water. Most advanced countries support farming but to Nigerian farming is only cash crop failing to understand cattle rearing is a form of (animal) farming. So if government can subsidise fertilizer there is nothing wrong in supporting animal farmers. Colonies (may be a better word would have sufficed) is an attempt to ensure consequential perennial volatile issues associated cattle grazing into other people's farms is prevented and everyone is duty bound to look constructively at ways to ensure it works for the benefit of the country. The last time I check Nigeria does not import beef and if care is not taken beef go soon become imported commodity! kenonze: |

ola12:Can dey fight on many front line at the time.....The real warriors are not the Fulani......just let the rest of the tribes armed themselves; what is going on in Bornu is actually ethnic cleaning.....many just don't realize......ask yourself why Boko haram don't ever strike in core Fulani area...same thing with Herdsmen atrocity. All the military hardwares may be up north......but don't be fool because in event of war breaking out the south have the advantage of quickly get armed. |

CioAngels:Most the Nigeria Army recent activities (down south, east, mid-belt, niger delta) were aims on consolidate the Fulani hold on to power....you folks should go and figure it out...They knew that war is coming and they systematic neutralize the other tribes.......all the recent arms and weapons seized at the ports are pointer to this. 1 Like |

Its true government is to protect lives and properties..... when has cow or nomadic business - herdsmen becomes a parastatal . Its a private business and government should avoid colonies, people's lives are being endangered , therefore they should be seeing as terrorist. |
