It's so sad. This may mean Kanu is broke.

Funny thing is that he wasn't reckless

So Papilo is a debtor and the wife is ranting over ordinary match day ticket.
He should contract the wife to rant him out of paying the debt now. Maybe the wifes'rant can buy him the public sympathy just as it does against his brother.

She went overboard.
No mind am.

I thought the job of AMCON is to resucitate a failing business, recoup the funds to the banks that was borrowed and return the company to the owner. Why are they trying to sell Papilo's hotel?

Naija is that how you repay a patriot who served your land. If he's a fulani man, we won't be hearing this.

Which patriotism are you talking about; did he play for free when he was playing or wasn’t he paid for his services

If only you know the worth of H-apartments, you wouldn't have said this.
Re: AMCON: We’re In Court With Kanu Over Debt by mabolo: 9:26am On Jan 23, 2018
So because KANU is a patriot , he can borrow money from a bank using Hadley apartment as collateral, then refused to pay back and we should forget about it abi?Do you think KANU played for Nigeria for free? He was paid allowances and bonuses all through, just like our soldiers and civil servants and police officer s . KANU was paid. Period. Incase you're not enlightened enough to know what went down, your hero KANU, collected a loan from a commercial bank and refused to pay back, he used his hotel as collateral, the bank sold the loan to amcon , amcon thereafter took over his hotel.simple

The hell you talking about?

He was well rewarded for his efforts, which he willingly offered, and became a multimillionaire.

Papilo,
Why cry wolf where there was none?

Sensationalism is but a brief respite. Do what you have to do to get out of negative situations always.
dont mind them, public sympathy cant do nothing unless you settle your debt jejely. Iffeanyi uba did the same thing until he got humbled . Same with Mr common sense (galleria). Lawyers are the ones making a killing in this recession. They know how to stall things with stupid motions, injunctions and appeal. Kanu, just because you played for nigeria doesn't mean you are immune to paying your debt......but come to think of it o,why are these folks always not paying their debts ?instead, they sensationalize things with "is it because we are igbos"?(Innoson's wife circa 2017)

The job of AMCON is to act as a 'Bad Bank', which is to buy bad loans / distressed assets from regular banks at a discount, and then concentrate on recovering the loan even at salvage value - even if it means selling off the collateral.

It wasn't Kanu's fault really.

He went into a partnership with one Mr Grant who is also his friend.
Grant runs the business and they had a fallout when things started going south.

How did I know this?
I have a banker friend who was always regaling me with their gist more than 7 years ago.

Sometimes, I just pity the ethnic champions who out of ignorance ascribe persecution to everything

Oga, there is no Mr Grant anywhere. His name is Ayo Gam - Ikon, an Ex banker. He mismanaged the hotel finances. Kanu trusted him and they have been business partners for almost 20 years.
