THE Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described the All Progressive Congress (APC) led federal government’s reply to the letter of former president Olusegun Obasanjo’s letter as ‘cooked up indices.’

Mr. Obasanjo had on Tuesday in an open epistle written to President Muhammadu Buhari urged him not to seek a second term in office because he underperformed.

Mr. Buhari through the federal government replied Mr. Obasanjo with detailed list of his achievements stressing that the former president might have been to busy to notice the success recorded by his administration.

Reacting to the government’s reply to Obasanjo, the PDP said the list of achievements presented by the Buhari’s administration was cooked up as it will not save the president.

The PDP said it amounts to executive rascality for the APC Federal Government to use its Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, to falsely claim that the economy, which it wrecked, has come out of recession, when the glaring reality shows skyrocketing costs, soaring unemployment rate, unabating closure of businesses as well as accumulation of foreign and domestic debts.

The party stated this in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan on Thursday.

“In its attempt to further hoodwink Nigerians, the Federal Government through the minister of information cleverly stated that the nation’s Foreign Reserves had risen to $40bn, while covering the fact presented by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) that our foreign debt has also escalated to $15.2bn under APC’s misrule.

“This is also a government whose domestic debt profile has scared many contractors off their sites and forcing millions of Nigerians into the labour market while development projects initiated by the PDP across the nation remains stagnated.

“The Federal Government also failed to inform Nigerians that other foreign financial instruments are being depleted, including the Excess Crude Account (ECA), from which they attempted to pilfer $1bn last year.

“It is ridiculous for the APC-led Federal Government to rely on an NBS report in giving an impression that the nation’s inflation rate has fallen at 15.37% while hiding the fact that inflation rate as at May 2015, when it took over rein of governance from the PDP, was 13.7%.

“This is even as the soaring price of commodities exposes the fact that 15.37% is not positive, as the APC government wants Nigerians to believe. The fact is that the APC is plunging the nation into deeper economic woes while trying to sugarcoat the issues with figures.

“Furthermore, the Federal Government attempted to delude Nigerians by claiming that the naira has become stable while glossing over the fact that it fell from about N165/1USD in 2015 to the current appalling N360/1USD.

“This is in addition to phony claims of increase in foreign capital inflow of $1.8bn, while refusing to address facts from NBS that under their misrule, 16 million Nigerians are unemployed, 18 million more are underemployed while another 27.44 million refused to work in 2016 for various reasons not unrelated to frustration in the polity.

Can this super clowns tell us why 27 governors were owing a back log of salaries as at May 2015, and why Okonjo with her own mouth told Nigerians they were borrowing to pay salaries> Is that not evident that this useless demonic party handed a cancerous economy to APC despite the big bounty made from crude oil sales. Yes we went into recession, but its only a serious prudent government that can pull out in just one year. Those that went into recession with Nigeria are still battling ti recover.

We are seeing capital projects that justifies our debt profile, and it is evident that with the economy bouncing back, and Nigeria listed as one of the 10 countries with ease of doing business, we are capable of paying our debts over time. America is one of the biggest debtors in the world today. There are rail projects going on, currently there is no state without a road construction going on as we speak. What did this useless party do, Ore_Benin which Obj started, Yaradua continued and GEJ finished. The only noise they made.

“The Federal Government also failed to inform Nigerians that other foreign financial instruments are being depleted, including the Excess Crude Account (ECA), from which they attempted to pilfer $1bn last year.

At least the money was approved by state governors including PDP governors, to tackle insecurity unlike when the grand patron of corruption was in power, his mistresses kept dipping hands into the money without approval for some phantom subsidy claims. God will punish this idiots for even bringing this up.

The country was in recession already tackled above, nothing less was expected. The important thing is there are already positive changes and the inflation rate is dropping. It is a lie from the pit of hell if PDP is claiming ignorance of this. Prices of items have dropped significantly.

“Furthermore, the Federal Government attempted to delude Nigerians by claiming that the naira has become stable while glossing over the fact that it fell from about N165/1USD in 2015 to the current appalling N360/1USD.

I Find this one funny and ridiculous. let us just assume it was a typo...165 what?? cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy

Again Job losses are tantamount to recession. This as been discussed earlier. This is more like repeating the same thing over and over again in different manners.

In conclusion, looks like Lai's well articulated, brilliant and intelligent response to Obj really caught this devilish, useless, God forsaken party unawares. They were expecting the dead brain Abati kind of response. Even Obj doesn't know what to say like this cheesy

Like APC like PDP. Birds of a feather. He who sold his monkey but had a dog still have something sitting down in his house. For our own good, the constitution need to make a provision to disallow jumping from one party to another for now. This is exactly where we got it wrong in this country. Old bad eggs keep circulating. All we need now is a fresh party with fresh minds desirous to work for the people. Nigerians should not subscribe to their lies and fake campaign promises anymore

Actually I did not read the post but I think the girl has no right to slap her boyfriend in public. Maybe they should report the issue to their village elders but if the neighbours refuse to pay the rent, they should just kill the landlord and forget about the missing car.

PDP is a funny party. They believed everything obj said about APC and Pmb but they chose to reject and disbelieve what he said about themselves procuring judgement from the supreme court. As for me,everything in that letter is 100% correct.

OUR LIVES WOULD TELL IF CHANGE OCCURS...

If buhari was not clueless, why send a VP to world economic forum while he plans for adisababa .

Back to the topic, its always a common trait with the zombs.. Chief liar mohammed took all of the figures of the NBS favorable to them in comparison between 2016/2017 while neglecting the most important ones because that dates back to 2015.

Counters:

- they claim to save $40bn, but fail to tell you N5tr was borrowed from pension which is $14bn at conversion amongst other debts accrued.

-27 governors?.. why bring up this lie which has been disputed over and over again to your own acknowledgement..

-What capital projects? Pls can you give us one above 50% completion in reflection to debts of $15.2bn and budget allocations accrued by this govt? Fashola said "No infrastructure was embarked on all through 2017"

- Security tackling? While fulani herdsmen are having a field day. how come bokoharam was on full swing during the quest for the $1bn, but no bombs heard after the request was rejected?.. Nigerians are wiser.

- prices of items drop? State the drop in comparison with the figures they met on ground as our minimum wage still remain same. Not this robbing peter to pay paul economic analysis.

- dollar at N165 is absolutely correct. You are quick to dispute that but fail to acknowledge it was once N570 in this same clueless administration.

- Now job loss is tantamont to recession, but LAI was singing rhetorics of 200,000 N-power employment. What is 200,000 underemployed graduates compared to 40m approx unemployed and underemployed graduate all in 3 years?
