My IDM, since I updated it to 5.18 build 8 has uninterged itself with my browsers meaning that I can't click a link and download with IDM, I can't even grab flv video on the net. Is there any solution to this problem?

Did you Select all the browsers from the 'Options' tab and select 'Use Advanced browser Integration'? Doing all these should solve the problem.

yup, advanced integration. requires computer restart mind. even grabs chrome links too

If no can help me I might just have to install the previous version that worked fine (5.17)

U knw wat, completely uninstall, delete d folder and profile in program files n document n settings, run ccleaner.

Do what 4ler said.

After uninstalling, check the registry, remove any traces of IDM.

NOTE: If you don't know how to manually remove stuffs in the Registry. Download RevoUninstaller. Use it to uninstall then scan for leftover then delete.

Restart your computer

Reinstall

Guy. I hv d same problem. I did everytin u guy's said here even deep scan of my registry but it didn't work.then my nxt option s 2 backup & format my system.after dat i install d internet download manager d updated version & it work fine.so if u want 2 use dat download manager again, do sm backup & format ur sys or u ignore d formatting & use browser download manager 2 download ur file.
