With the recent developments and scheme of things happening, every passing day only justifies the "School of Thought" that our beloved president in absentia Umar Yar'adua is no longer relevant politically and may only be relevant in our school's Social studies & History Text books.

But now my question is what will you best remember Yar'adua for ?

I'll rememba him as d only leader in dis corrupt country to declare his assets publicly witout bein urged 2 do so.
He will be remembad 4 his respect for the rule of law and principle of seperation of power.
I will rememba him as d father of peace in d modern Nigeria thru his amnesty prog.
I will remeba him as Mr Due process.
I will rememba him as a selfless leader who was prepared to make d ultimate surprise in d interest of d nation.
His simplicity and listenin posture to national issues is somthin I will neva 4get in him.
Above all he will be remembad as Nigeria's leader without personal corruption.

Rule of Law indeed ! You should have said "The Mis-Interpretation of Law" that would have sounded much better

That's true, he was so slow that he made late 90's Nitel Dial Up look like 2006 3G Broadband !

The worst president that ever ruled Nigeria.
Except for the amnesty program he just initiated, he couldn't do a single thing cos he kept planning for 3 years until the cold hands of pericaditis came and shoved him aside.

Yaradua will be remembered for the following
1. For being a sickler.
2. The first sitting president in the history of the world to be smuggled in the cover of darkness into his own country.
3. The first president in the world to be conveyed by air with an ambulance and wires all over him.

I don't think he suffered from sickle cell anemia or did he ?
Re: What Will You Best Remember Yar'adua For ? by dinggle: 1:58pm On Apr 20, 2010
You dont need to have sickle cell anemia to be a sickler. If you cant spend 2months without seeing a doc then thts a syndrome of a sickler. Yaradua looked worse than a sickler while in office. His family should have quietly ask him to step aside yrs back, Life or power which one is most important? considering the fact that without life there can be no power.

He will be remembered for articulating his seven-point agenda and only succeeded in reading this out to all of us from a piece of paper as a reminder without actualising any of them.

He will also be remembered for taking over six months to reshuffle his cabinet and missed attending a United Nations General Assembly meeting because of the cabinet reconstitution - even the reconstituted cabinet contained almost all the old members with just a few new faces added.

He will be remembered as the only president ever that has many governors as sons-in-law

He will be remembered as a president who though promised to fight corruption but surrounded himself with terribly corrupt people - Ibori, Farida  Aondowankaa et al

He will be remembered as a president who rather than attend a United Nations General Assembly meeting and also have a private meeting with Obama, chose instead to travel to Saudi Arabia and inaugurate a university

He will be remembered for his numerous names viz Yar ‘Ado nothing, Yar ‘Aslow, Yar Aclueless, Yar ‘Asiddon look, Yar ‘Avisionless etc

Lastly, he will be rememered as a president who never exceeded 20% to 30% implementation of budgets drawn up by him.
