However the pertinent question here is, why deny them their fundamental right as consenting adults to have sex with each other. Nigeria is a country where we have our priorities upside down, and it's appalling.

The m0rons in this story found it was appropriate for them to prevent these adults from having sex, but would never consider taking them off the streets and rehabilitating them. Their main concern is that two mentally challenged people have no right to relieve themselves of their pent-up sexual passion or to enjoy themselves. That to me is a totally absurd and preposterous point of view.

Actually consent isn’t valid when mental health is impaired. Thought you should know that.
Also some rights get reduced when mental health is diminished. For you to have your full rights as an adult, you have it be of sound mind. Any cognitive impairment reduces those rights and in some cases may take it away entirely.

And it’s not about Nigeria, I have worked at a mental health institute in America where the patients are being rehabilitated and given treatment as is appropriate. They don’t have sexual privileges.

You may be right that the people who separated them have their priorities mixed up. But they did the right thing even if they did it for the wrong reason.
