John had been in relationship with T. Y for two and half years.  They loved each other and played with the modern day rule, women love money,  men love the other room. John was a simple guy working in thriving company. He was rich based on what he earned. His girlfriend, T. Y, was the demanding type, asking this and asking that,  having high expectation of him to pay  her bills and feed her account. John had the money, so it was not too much for him to do. Most of the time what usually cause a bridge was if John did not respond to her needs. Money makes her smile. She milked him as she saw him as the financial way of escape, but she had little contribution  to his life.
John's company  employed a new set of workers and there was a young girl among them,  Gladys. John just liked her,  you know those kind of people you can't really explain why you like them.  This drew the two of them together to the suprise of some who knew him as a gentle guy,  he made the point clear and told them her place. Hmm! They became good friends, and shared words together. Gladys will always talk of things that would benefit John,  whenever she saw anything that she thought John can do, to better his life, she brought this to him and also to other who were her friends. He once told John to find a means to start a business  as another source of income and that companies were not predictable. This got John thinking and he felt, he could start something for himself.  Over the years he had not really saved much especially since when he had gotten into relationship with T. Y,  she had been taking this and that. So he decided to do something.
John found himself liking Gladys the more, she was always contributing.  She gave him advice once on taking special courses, he did and it fetched him greater height  in the company.
One day he sat  down alone,  resting his head on the cussion,  some thought were playing in his mind and he allowed them.  It was the world of T. Y and that of Gladys. Just these nine months, Gladys seemed to had added to his life far more than T.Y. With T.Y, it had being giving, giving and the other room matters, she seemed not to be creative. With Gladys, who he had not offer anything apart  from few lunch pay, he had gained alot,  change his perception and direction. He seems to now be on fire to be a better him,  that was not the same feeling with T.Y. He thought on and decided to do something.
He focus on building  a better self and reduced his pump of money to T Y account. He was not available  for all the flexing and flirting, he got serious, pursuing this and that,  all these were bearable but the reduction in the money made T. Y unhappy and was always bringing quarrel. He explained  this but it seemed she cared less. On the other hand,  John was watching to see if Gladys had any serious relationship, he was fixing himself up with her more than a friend. He was bold towards her to tell her his mind,  which at first she rejected becaue she knew he had a girlfriend. He assured her and they kept on. Not to waste more time and money, he called off his relationship  with T Y. Oh,  she was not happy,  she questioned, she wonder, what must have happened,  she was playing to the rule as many girls were doing and it worked. John said a good goodbye and left for ever. He had weigh  the two sides and come to a conclusion that provoked his action. He had not thought much of life until he met Gladys. So he went with the one who added value to his life.
