Breaking News: The Nigerian Bar Association NBA Ikeja Branch Chairman, Adeshina Ogunlana has been arrested by the Nigerian Police over his branch refusal to accept the new taxes increase in Lagos State. Troops of The Nigeria Police on the instruction of the Lagos CP has invaded the NBA ikeja Branch at about 6pm to arrest the the branch chairman Adesina Ogunlana over the the proposed protest march against the LU C excessive taxes by Ambode Government. The Chairman has however refused to honor the invitation and in company of the Bar men resisted the arrest of the chair. The police battalion are still laying siege at the secretariat as at the time of this report. We call on @PoliceNG to release the Chairman of Ikeja Branch Adesina Ogunlana immediately. We are in a democracy and not khakistocracy. @PoliceNG just touched the Tigers tail. The protest will hold with or without Ogunlana. The protest is not for Ogunlana but the whole Lagos state against an inhumane tax. Ogunlana refused to be compromised by @followlasg and intimidation by DSS and @PoliceNG The Chairman of NBA Ikeja branch is safe. We rallied and prevented them from arresting him. Just leaving the Bar Centre in the company of the Chairman and some other members. We will subdue this oppression and tyranny. Power belongs to the People.
