- Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi II has lamented over the usage of hate speech in the social media

- Sanusi said Nigeria is on the path to anarchy because of the reckless use of hate speeches on social media platforms

- He, however, called on the relevant authorities to checkmate the menace before it drags the country into the anarchy


Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi II on Monday, February 19, faulted usage of hate speech in the social media and called on relevant authorities to checkmate the menace before it drags the country into anarchy.

The Nation reports Sanusi who made this known through the district head of Rogo, Alhaji Muhammad Muhammad Muaraz said political leadership across board must arise and fight against the usage of hate speech.

He further said that Nigeria is on the path to anarchy because of the reckless use of hate speeches on social media platforms.

The monarch made this in his remarks during the opening session of the 2nd NUJ National Conference Kano 2018 with the theme, “Hate Speech: Halting the Tide before It Is Too Late”.

According to him, ''Indiscriminate use of words that are provocative posses the danger of leading the country towards anarchy.''


Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported that Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, the Emir of Kano said intelligent debate on restructuring must start to end ethnic agitations across Nigeria.

Speaking at the Union Bank’s centenary event in Lagos state, the Emir Sanusi said there is need for federal government to interact and bring lasting peace in the country.

Emir said the current constitution which states the country must have governors and deputies in all the 36 states, president and vice president, ministers from every state, over 109 senators and over 360 House of representatives, 774 local chairmen are not sustainable.

Its not about covering your face and sitting in one corner of your palace all day. If you were wise enough, you'd talk sense to your Fulani brethren who have embarked on a killing spree.

Nigeria's problem is Buhari, his ineptitude in handling affairs, open support of terrorist herdsmen and his division of the country along ethno religious lines. Sanusi doesn't know what he's talking about here cool

Why did he speak up when it started with Jonathan and when Fayose was glaringly flashing it to PMB's face?
