I am a stupid person, yes. However, when I want solution to medical issues I find my way to a hospital and let experts do what they trained to do for many years.

My stupidity does not lead me to ask a teeming horde of medically ignorant persons for recommendations.

If the greatest reach of your wisdom is condoning the solicitation of medical advise from untrained persons then you're the Solomon of our times.
How I wish I could like your post like 100 times

This can be both an internal and external problem, hence it requires treating it both internally and externally. I recommend the use of sulphur mixed with cream.

1. I also recommend she washes all part of her body that is affected by this condition constantly by using water mixed with salt and or lime. Tell her to bath thrice daily mixing salt in especially warm water ( not cold water ), She needs lots of salt, i.e. one palm per bucket of water and she will snap out of this cycle if she baths 2-3 times using this theraphy daily. This washes any residue of the bacteria that's eating up her flesh.( Note, in the Bible God commanded Moses to seperate people with skin conditions far from the community and get cleansed before returning, the same procedure applies here).

2. Obviously she as been affected by bacteria this includes her clothings, so i advise she should make sure her cloth is thoroughly sun-dried and she must stop wearing clothes that are not dried directly by the sun. Ironing her clothes will help kill any stubborn bacteria that hides in her clothes. I also recommend she uses distinfectants for all her clothes. She needs to empty her clothings and wash everything thoroughly with distinfectant.( cause there's need to eradicate all the bacteria reservoir causing this damage )

3. For internal cleansing, i advise blood cleansers.i.e. detoxifiers or and the use of antibiotics, this cleanses the body deeply from inside the blood and purifies her system from deep within. Before the use of antibiotics, i advise her to take worm expeller every two weeks for the next two months. This flushes the signature in her DNA base so it doesn't replicate any further. After or while taking the worm treatement, she can take the antibiotics.

4. She needs a body cream or skin oitment that is designed for this kind of skin rashes. Anything that contains sulphur is fantastic. Benzyl-Benzoate is a good ointment to use. If she's going to use any ointment that contains sulphur, or if she will be mizing sulphur with her body cream while treating herself, she musn't use such treatments in hot weather, or in sunny condition or in the afteroon.

5. Good body maintenance eradicates skin defects, tell her to buy coconut oil and find a good cream and use it regulalry . The best results is always obtained when theraphy are combined

6. By changing her diets, her entire metabolism system is altered and this naturally can tilt to break the cycle. I encourage/recommend her to eat lots of vegetables raw daily. This isn't just waterleaf that sin't as nutritious, but vegetables like tomatoes, broccoli, kale, salad, cucmber, cabbage, lettuce

7. She needs to outgrow the condition and by engaging in good body care she can definitely get her expected new skin. I highly recommend the use of oily cream to alleviate the dryness and create condition were the skin begins to flourish on its own. Our own native black cream is a good recommendation especially if mixed with grounded sulphur. Let her use soaps like Dudu Osun, Okin soap and bath with salt in her bath water and distinfectants. If she break the bacterial cycle long enough, the condition will change for the better

I wish her good luck

Didn't you read the part were she said the lady has been under treatment for 'years'? Well, I am just delighted you affirmed to the fact that you're overwhelmed by your stupidity, God enrich you more.
Good day.

Your brand of wisdom is the noisome type.

Did she mention what sort of treatment she'd undergone? If you check well now you will notice that she has not been to a trained dermatologist or whichever professional handles issues like hers. Ignorance is the reason why Nigerians die like fowls.

Take for instance the case of 22 year old Tunde in my street who died after suffering malaria. He did ask for advise but was told to drink Agbo and everything will be fine. Everything didn't turn out fine -- he died the next day when the parasite found its way his brain.

No matter the amount of treatment she's undergone in the past, Nairaland does not have an answer for her. If you look well most of the suggestions have been for her to find a specialist, preferably in a government hospital, for detailed care and attention.

You sound like you have some education, just like the op, but please learn to use your brain before you die from treatable conditions.

Do you want Nairaland to become a doctor and prescribe tests and how did you know the condition was caused by a bacteria, and not, say a Fungi?

At the moment, I am chilling with my girlfriend over steaming goat meat pepper and Grants aged Whisky. Tomorrow, we have some activities planned. Same for Sunday. It's been this way for many years.

If this is frustration let me wallow in it.

Maybe you got confused with my choice of words. I'm only intending the word 'doctor' for 'medication'. So if I want to rephrase, I'll say 'the medication way is the best way.' Do you understand now?

I don't want to assume that they've not gone to see a doctor for this. But when they see a very good dermatologist, i believe the diagnosis will be able to tell what it actually is before they start trying random treatments. I think, if anyone knows a very good dermatologist, they should just recommend here and send the number to the OP. Regards.

That is not psoriasis. Psoriasis is characterised by a silvery white surface, which bleed when you peel it (Autspiz sign). Look up CREST syndrome (limited scleroderma) and diffuse scleroderma

Good day my fellow Nairalanders.
Please I visited my friend few days back and I saw his younger sister hand with strange bacteria infection or let me say strange sickness. I asked them if they have treated it and they said they said she has been under treatment for years just because of the hand. She use special soap and she don't touch other detergent just because of the hand.
Attached are some of the pictures of her hand. Please any recommendations will be nice.
Mods, Please push to front page

Maybe assuming it is a bacterial infection is an error.

How long has she been on treatment? What kind of treatment? Medication? Has she any other illness/auto-immune/allergies/asthma? Using medication for those? Any other part of the body involved like toenails, groin? Any family members with similar symptoms? Dated anyone with similar symptoms? Does she handle soil (e.g farmer) or has pets? What diagnosis has her doctor reached and has been treating?

From the pics, looks like T. manuum infection and looking like the characteristic raised ring like feature. But direct physical exam by her doc should have confirmed it, backed with culture if possible.

They may have been treating her for psoriasis or keratolysis.

There should have been an improvement after 4 to 6 weeks if treated for Tinea manuum with adherence to medication & medication is not fake.

Having been on treatment for that long, I'd say just getting medication tips over the internet may not be the best. Better to go get a proper diagnosis from a dermatologist.
