Nigerians are eligible to apply. Note that unlike the general commonwealth scholarship (https://www.nairaland.com/4228475/apply-2018-msc-phd-commonwealth) which requires institution and agency authority and endorsement like the Nigeria Federal Scholarship Board, in this, you apply directly to the universities. Eligibility To apply for these scholarships, you must: • Be a citizen of or have been granted refugee status by an eligible Commonwealth country, or be a British Protected Person • Be permanently resident in an eligible Commonwealth country • Be available to start your academic studies in the UK by the start of the UK academic year in September/October 2018 • By October 2018, hold a first degree of at least 2.1, or 2.2 and a Masters degree • Not have studied or worked for one (academic) year or more in a high income country • Not have studied or worked for one (academic) year or more in a high income country • Be unable to afford to study in the UK without this scholarship Selection criteria include: • Academic merit of the candidate • Potential impact of the work on the development of the candidate’s home country. |

HOW TO APPLY Apply for admission in the university and course of your choice. You can apply to more than one university or course if you wish. Note the Application ID of your application and tell them in your personal statement that you intend to be considered for Commonwealth shared scholarship. Afterwards, go to the commonwealth scholarship website below to apply. You will need to insert your University Application ID in the commonwealth application. I actually mailed them about the issue. Below is their response We are aware that the EAS is very busy. We suggest you do the following: 1. prepare your answers in a word processor and paste them in when you get on-line. I have started applying (through the school and scholarship board) but I am unable to progress with the University of Kent application process due to certain information (that has to do with passport, visa, and the likes)I am required to provide.
