UJIC:Oga you have just deitified the ground with that statement and that's something we are never to do. The Lord took from the ground, not the ground gave to the Lord. The ground is an inanimate object just like the sun and the moon and should never be seen as nothing more than things that show forth the awesomeness of the creator God. I'm sure your statement was an honest mistake and you meant no harm by it. |

awoyam1:Oga, I vehemently disagree with all you've said, but it's your opinion so I'll leave your perception to you but, I have to correct you here. There is no Muslim on earth who thinks the longer s/he takes to build a mosque, hospital, shelter or what have you, the more her/his blessings come. Reverse is the case cos they try to finish it as soon as possible for they believe the blessings come from the number of people who benefit from the completed project. Eg, people that pray in the mosque, patients treated in the hospital or needy provided for by the shelter etc. |

How I wished I came very early to this thread. Anyway, @op, it shows you do not understand the concept of tithing neither do you understand the principle because you keep on misrepresenting giving with tithing. Giving freely and cheerfully according to the preaching of Jesus and Apostle Paul in Corinthians, is very much different from tithing. When you give, give freely without any intention of expecting anything in return- whatever you do to the least of your brother, you do unto Christ- that's the principle of giving which is totally different and should not be misconstrued with tithing. Giving is to Christianity while tithing is to Judaism. |

I personally do not always give my tithe to church, in fact I give less than 1 % of it to church when I feel like, but the rest and even more goes to the poor and they are just everywhere, I wish I have more to give them and sincerely speaking, if I give all my tithe to church, knowing full well of ones other financial responsibilities which are so very necessary for family and relations, I would not have much to give the poor. But this my way of giving almost all the tithe to the needy and including some portion of my personal money has gone a long way and making me more fulfilled. Talking about the blessings, if you know me, you would know am blessed all round. |
