Brazil is very homogenous in terms of their racial and ethnicities how can you be certain he does not have black lineage? It would not be unusual in Brazil one does not have to look black.

And the religion of Bahia is Candomblé which is a mixture of Yoruba ,Bantu and Fon beliefs rather than be dismissive and angry
