Kingsley1000:I beg to disagree with u....let me tell u why. I wil be leaving d remaining "70%" that won't make it and talk about the 30% that u assumed will often make it. Definitely before they started the journey they would av gather a reasonable amount of money. Don't u think if they pit same effort as the one they put in trying to pass this hurdle they would have raised a sensible amount of money that can help them get a visa and other valid documents to embark on their journey by air, then from their start their illegal hustle to get green card aboard. I can bet it with u that 90% won't embark on this journey had it been they heard or know that this was what they will face while crossing thru the dessert to Europe. And again judging from ur 30% out of 100 crossing successfully, that is not a success story cos out of that 30 that will cross successfully sef 15% will end up been caught by d law enforcement agent and be sent back maybe 5% will keep roaming round the street of Europe begging for aims then 10% will not be the lucky ones. Again it just doesn't worth it.. Ur chances of crossing over is 20/100% it is not just certain that u will survive most especially female.....90% of them would be violated one way or d other most especially the ones going alone and aiint too smart. They would get screwed over as many times as possible so might even enter Europe with HIV. It is not worth it jare 69 Likes 8 Shares |

we all waited at the place where the vehicle dropped us off for some minute and then two cars showed up and four arab men came out of them and opened the car doors and we entered three to a car by we seating on the back, and that was how we where all carried away. as we drove into the city of tripoli there was a check point with soldiers, we were stopped and they spoke with the driver and then freed us to drive trough. as the car was driving we were looking out side from the car window seeing all the bullet hole on the houses, the car drove for about 1 hour still we a arrived at a house that was fenced and then we came down and nock at the small gate and the ghetto boss open the gate for us and we entered and also meant people there that told us immediately to go and baff for we where smelling and thay throwed away all the cloths we were putting on so not to bring desert warrior which was like a bug that suck blood into the ghetto. .........................to be continued 40 Likes 2 Shares |

Thegamingorca: No, that's not true. If you are doing menial jobs abroad and you are building mansions in Nigeria there is some illegal money making happening. After tax and rent, food and transport there is no way mansions can be built. If you had said nursing, fine but not menial jobs. Even if Nigeria is not worth living in there are over 50 others on the continent people could start from with the money paid to traffickers as investment rather than a straight loss. Imagine how much money a bus load of 25 people had raised and what it could have been used to do if they had only looked at things differently instead of with rose tinted glasses, yet some would have died, became slaves or raped on the way. And for what? 61 Likes 3 Shares |

londoner:Seconded. Lots of headlines out there...... at least I've never seen such details...that if I wanted to embark on such a journey. ..I would've changed my mind after reading this....and he hasn't even finished. If in the end there was a pot of gold waiting for him. .... I wouldn't take this risk. ...this is like gambling with my life. Not worth it.He should really publish a biography...it will deter many...and save many lives. 16 Likes 2 Shares |

sorry about yesterday, somebody made me angry so i just did not want to write with an angry head in this new ghetto i meant some people who have tried to cross to the small town closed to the sea after tripoli but where cut and send to underground prison. tripoli nowhere is safe for a black person even in the ghetto as well, many ghetto have been invaded by the libyer mafias who took people to work for them without payment, while the solders send people to underground prison where the girls a mostly raped by them and the men work for them free. we always stayed inside the ghetto and go out as early as possible to felch water when the citizens a still asleep or when somebody is looking for black people to work for them, this work connection only come through the man that owned the house who was a retired army but rented the house to a connection man who used it for his business. it was really hard to work in tripoli sometimes when we finish working for them we dont get payed and when ever we are going back to the ghetto we get chased with stone by the arab children sometimes day point gun at us and rob us of the money we earned. every night we sleept with one eyes open just in case if the ghetto was being busted cause that was normal in tripoli. with all this chaos i was not able to raise enough money to further the journey, god so kind i still had my phone sim card on me, which had my peoples number on it, so i asked the ghetto boss to please allow me with the one phone which had libyer sim card on it and was available to everyone in every ghetto. so i called a sister of mine and told her the problem i was in, cause once you are in libyer you would never want to use the root you used to get to libyer to go back to nigeria if not i would have, so for that reason we were stuck there was no going back so it was only forward. so after a flew week i have called this sister of mine she called back through the ghetto phone and the ghetto boss then pass the phone to me and she told me she was able to raise 50k which i then added to the one i raised while going to the mini work i could which was around 120 dinars but all together was not enough to cross the mediterranean sea. but the fact that half bread is better than non and i was better than a lot of others in the ghetto so the connection man accepted the money and the 50k was payed into his nigerian account and he wrote my name on the list of those going for crossing so i waited for the big day of the next journey............................................to be continued 46 Likes 6 Shares |

I had a coursemate in the University who embarked on this same journey around 1998 or thereabout, during the regime of Ghadaffi. He told me all that he experienced and I was horrified, he never made it across the Med. but was caught-up in shady business. He spent 2 years in a Libyan prison and was finally deported back to Nigeria. He is now a junky, a University drop-out and is just now roaming the streets of Lagos hustling for money to buy his next shot of Crack. 70 Likes 8 Shares |

justwise:I never said the journey is worthwhile, but some people had gone to europe via libya, some of them settled in italian small island SICILY very close to libya, and they are doing very well.Alas, considerable number of people that embarked on the journey are not gonna make it...so the benefits of staying back here and hustle outweighs/superceeds embarking on this perilous adventure, nevertheless,i believe therez luck. |

and so came the day of the risky journey to this small town closed to the sea, it only takes the grace of what ever people believe in to get them safely to the next camp which was in the small town closed to the sea, many have tried but did not made it there and was sent to prison. it was around 5pm in the evening when a fish coldroom truck vehicle, that is used to carry fish came to pick those that have payed for the journey, and as usual we bought the things we needed before hand, this was biscuit, bread, water, and plastic bottle minerals. we all entered inside the truck with all the things we bought and the door was closed and the vehicle started driving, we drove for almost 3 hours but we could not see outside for we were looked inside the truck still the vehicle suddenly stopped and our quest was check point and by now we all knows the rules while on the journey which was never to make noise or you will get everybody busted and sent to prison. after some few minute of stopping at the check point the vehicle engine started and the driving continued for about another one hour still the vehicle stopped again and the doors opened and we all came down and everywhere was totally dark and there was a fence in front of us and was told to jump inside the compound as fast as we could and with all our bags thrown across also. jumping across to the compound we saw more than 100 people inside the compound and some small housing buildings as well, if only we had new we would have been as selfish as we could but we did not know, how things was in this camp and the camp was filled with desert warriors the king of sucking blood bug that suck people all over there body and no where in this camp was safe to sleep for this bugs were everywhere. we were shown place that we were to sleep but with the information i was told that nowhere was safe from the bugs i could not sleep so i joined the people that was doing watchnight to guild that night till the next morning. and at daybreak we were giving out our food to the people we meant there without knowing how long we will be spending in this camp before going to crossing the sea, the weather was mostly read by the connection men and the arabic men who works hand to hand with each other and most times weather cant be predicted, and that cause the capsizing of boat on top the mediterranean sea.............................................to be continued 37 Likes 2 Shares |

after three weeks of waiting to cross the mediterranean sea there was still no signs of the connection man or the arab people who were to take us to the crossing point, mean while we where hungry to death no food no water and sometime the arabic men comes very rear to bring us water, bread, bag of rice tin tomatoes and groundnut oil, but the rest things to prepare it was history. and those that we shared our food to when we newly arrived had other ways we did not no about to get themselfs things they needed and became selfish to the rest of our with it, it was a serious choas in this camp and we were in the middle of nowhere with land without trees surrounding us. every day was fight in the camp there was no superman in this camp anybody that was found going against the rule of the camp get beaten by everyone. this continue going on we were all tired of the place as hunger became worst then before, some people started falling ill while the girls were all smelling because they could not baff and the bugs have eating into all parts of our body, it was hell in this camp. every morning when we wake up we always take of our shirt and underwear to kill off bugs and there eggs that was on it. many people run away from the camp thinking that the connection man has abandoned us cause that two was also normal in libyer. we were all prayerfull for gods mercy on us. after two weeks time they brought a new set of people to join us and they told us we would to be going for crossing to italy and we were all happy and prepare ourself for the big day. on that same day the new comers that came to joined us making all of us about 230 people that was going for cross, the zip and button that was on they shirts were ripped off so as not to injure the balloon boat we were to enter this was done to everyone including our nails were also cut off. and finally it was the big day night at around 11pm the arab man and the connection man came with the same vehicle that brought us, to pick us to go near the sea. the truck carried people and when it was filled up it drives off and after about 30 minute it came back, and i was among the next people he came to carry, while inside the truck it was hard to breath cause we were loaded like sardine and there was no air coming inside the truck. and finally the car stopped and we came down and behold it was the big deadly mediterranean sea in front of me and there where people coupling and pumping the boat we were about to enter, and the truck drove off to bring the last set of people in the camp.........................................................................................to be continued 49 Likes 4 Shares |
